How do you get your SE hits?
 

Do you enter all your pages into the search engines one by one as you make them, or do you let the web spider the hell out of you, as you sit back and touch yourself?

I dont submit to the SE's I just let them spider my pages

I say them the only SE i consider worth while ,as far as SEO goes, is google

I have fairly concrete evidence that submitting no longer works for the engines that accept submissions. Furthermore, if it did work, I still would suggest you not submit.

Just make sure your pages can be found and wait for the spiders to find you.

As far as SE hits are concerend, it completely depends on the niche you are optimizing for. There is no blanket answer to this question.

If you go to googles submit page and you submit a URL it goes nowhere it returns a simple confirmation page
