I watched "The Mist" yesterday.

I rented it, and watched it yesterday. Needless to say, I'm going to be buying it now. I was automatically interested because it's from the mind of Stephen King. I had expected an ending like that, and almost guessed the ending, but not quite. Definitely a great movie. Stephen King is one of my favorite writers. Oh, did anyone notice the little shout out to John Carpenter in the movie? Damn, got to love it. For those whom have seen it, what did you think? For those of you who didn't see it, you need to.

It was a great ending. Really fucking crazy, though. That would be royally screwed up.

Ahh, sucks to hear you didn't enjoy it. I bet the ending struck you, though.

I saw it theaters and I think I was kinda disappointed. Not terribly disappointed, just wouldn't take the time to watch it again. :2 cents:

I saw it recently and I have to say, there is some truth as to how people would act based on an apocalyptic scenario............I'm talking about that religious biatch (not insulting anyone's beliefs here!), and also how the lack of faith ended up in such a silly killing in the end, at least that's how I saw it...

Overall an OK movie, wouldn't watch it again though...

Was good until the end I thought, seemed pointless to do that.

Agreed. Stupid ending. Was also missing some of the more memorable (for me) images from the short story.

I would love to have seen it in theaters.

I watched it in Hong Kong in some small joint where the guy sitting next to me was getting a hand job from his Chinese girlfriend. I missed a lot of the movie watching them.

The ending was great. It messes with a lot of heads.

I have been contemplating on whether to watch the movie or not. Although Steven King is one of my favorite writers and I have read nearly all of his books I find that when made into a movie the story often looses a lot of it's luster.

morningstar 04-07-2008 04:29 AM

another kick ass movie with LOL at the ending!

Yep, sad fucking ending in emo style. In the original King's story the end is absolutely different. As far as I remember (I was reading it about 15 years ago) everyone dies, but not like fuckin' crying emo morons.

Always read the original :2 cents:

Personally I don't suggest it. Yes, King is great. The original story is interesting, but the movie is a total piece of shit :2 cents:

I have yet to read the book. I know, I'm a slacker. :(

notoldschool 04-07-2008 06:15 AM

One of his best book to movie adaptions for sure. I love the fact they didnt sugar coat the movie like some of his other work. Worth a watch for sure. But if your looking for an author who never dissapoints, try Dean R Koontz. You wont be sorry.

This is the first movie where I felt the black man deserved to die.......His logic was insane!!

TimCase 04-07-2008 06:28 AM

Wonder what happened to that guy? I don't remember seeing his dead body any where. At first, I thought he was the one caught in the spider webs in the pharmacy, it was one of the soldiers, though.

Did she just squeeze it between 2 fingers, or did she use a tweezer?

Bojangles 04-07-2008 07:51 AM
