There will be a 21 gun salute at his funeral, starting on the left side, and going clockwise like "The Wave."

Agreed. Did you see his ignorance exposed in Bowling for Columbine? https://youtube.com/watch?v=FD2x6-CF2h4

Americans should be embarrassed.

Oh, out of respect to a dead guy, RIP.

Sad to loose you. RIP Charlton Heston ...

CunningStunt 04-06-2008 04:37 AM

What is it with people who don't know the difference between lose and loose? There's an extra O in the misspelling for christ's sake. Or do you think he was tight?

Joe BrainCash 04-06-2008 06:02 AM

He won't be missed by me..but I'll respect other people's view on him now that he's dead...

In general? He was a very active speaker - appearing at marches and so on - on behalf of civil rights in the 60s.

digifan 04-06-2008 07:16 AM

R. I. P... he was a great actor.

Of course, he loved his hunting and its not much fun hunting locked up prey.

Vendzilla 04-06-2008 09:42 AM

For those that didn't liked his politics, what would you have against someone that marched with Martin Luther King for civil right in 1963? Did you know he won the medal of Freedom?
He spent his life actively supporting civil rights and all anyone here can remember that he was once the leader of of the NRA.
For those that thought he was a so so actor, maybe you're not taking he won an Oscar?

The man was a giant, his movies will be watched for years to come, yeah he made Planet of the apes, but it was good enough for a remake which he had a part in.

God Bless Charlton Heston, may he and Texas Dreams be sharing a shot of Jack right now!

Some Guy 04-06-2008 09:56 AM

Yeah, Heston seemed pretty cool to me.

I'd put Planet of the Apes in the top 10 sci-fi movies of all time.

Sad to say that in typical GFY fashion those critical of Heston are uneducated and uninformed, have few life accomplishments of any kind, have never been in charge of anything(nor never will), and have little respect for anybody.

Spunky 04-06-2008 11:07 AM

RIP Charlton..a true legend

what do you know about my life?

i never cared much about him until i saw him in Bowling for Columbine. and no matter what he might have accomplished: his views on weapons made him an idiot in my eyes. i know a lot of you see that differently, but thats my freedom of speech.

may he rest in peace though and not be bothered by all those that were killed by those weapons he defended

You're judgeing Charlton Heston on that piece of propaganda shit? He defended the right to legal gun ownership, high school kids with guns are not legal, who's the idiot? The man spoke out on Civil rights too, he walked with MLK in 63, he's been involved in civil rights ever since. Before you respnd to this, maybe you should read exactly what his views were, because clearly you have no idea what the man was about, or even what the NRA is about!

D 04-07-2008 10:29 AM

I had just heard about this on this morning's radio...

He was a great man.

R.I.P.

Some of you may be judging him based solely on an interview that was biased against him, exploited for the end of dramatic effect, and conducted while he was experiencing the onset of Alzheimer's. To those peeps, I offer that you should know better.

To those that might thing he wasn't "great," I humbly offer that you either don't know enough about the man, or don't understand what makes a man "great."
