Don’t ever buy anything from CafePress or what ever their name is !!!

You know that big website where you can set up your own store to sell mugs, t-shirts and other useless crap. My wife ordered 160 dollars worth of stuff from them and we got it this afternoon. It looks like someone took a fucking sharpie and drew with it on the shirt. I have never ever seen more pathetic quality, even in god damned Vietnam flea market. I would do a charge back on them but I feel sorry for that soccer mom / mary kay reject that had to make that store.

CyberHustler 04-05-2008 08:13 PM

Post pics... :thumbsup

fris 04-05-2008 08:15 PM

Ya its very low quality, basially its just a shirt and they print your jpg on it

Phil 04-05-2008 08:15 PM

no, not worth taking it out of the box. fucking piece of shit

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 04-05-2008 08:19 PM

ya, they make some pretty shitty stuff. some of what i saw basically looks about the same quality as the iron on printouts you can buy...

tony286 04-05-2008 08:21 PM

got a coffee mug it wasnt bad

SarahLLO 04-05-2008 08:58 PM

Only thing I ever bought from there was a shirt that had most of the proceeds going to charity. And yeah, the quality was terrible - I got a tank top and the straps were sewn on all wonky and twisted.

Ron Bennett 04-05-2008 09:26 PM

Nothing new. CafePress has never been known for quality.

Really the quality issue isn't with cafepress it is many times the fault of the designer/store owner for producing poor quality art and not checking the real world results on a sample product before selling it to the public.

I have had a cafepress store for many years and they do have a money back guarantee, so if you aren't satisfied, call them and they will take care of it for you.

I once ordered a shirt for someone as a gift, when I got it I realized I had ordered the wrong size..my mistake..called em up..told them I screwed up..they said no prob and sent me out a new one in the correct size by 2nd day air and told me to keep the one I ordered initially.

hard to beat that...lol

Iron Fist 04-05-2008 10:03 PM

Charge that shit back... once the processer gets pissed off -- quality will improve drastically, or they are gone... sorry just sayin - but it's just business.

who 04-05-2008 10:32 PM

It's not the art, it's the fucking shit quality of the materials they use. Hell you can't see what you're paying for until you pay for it, so why would they care?

Ron Bennett 04-05-2008 11:14 PM

CafePress has been around for like 10 years ... a few more chargebacks won't change anything.

The submitted art makes a difference for what the image itself looks like, but much of the quality complaints have to do with the clothing materials and transfer methods cafepress uses that can often, regardless of the submitted art quality, result in a crappy final product.

no, in my case it was simple kanji letters and translation in English. It looked like it was written with marker..

Jens Van Assterdam 04-06-2008 11:07 AM

Whats a good alternative for cafepress?

The Duck 04-06-2008 11:08 AM

yes and spreadshirt is the same

Violetta 04-06-2008 11:18 AM

I have ordered some shirts from there too, and it is not the best stuff I have seen

IllTestYourGirls 04-06-2008 11:21 AM

I bought one shirt from there it looked better after it was washed.

Some Guy 04-06-2008 11:25 AM

I ordered a poster once from Cafe Press and it came out pretty well, actually. But, yeah, I hear their shirts and stuff are crap.

http://www.zazzle.com

I've ordered custom shirts from them before and they're not half bad.

CaptainHowdy 04-06-2008 01:21 PM

Warning to the top!

Fizzgig 04-06-2008 01:42 PM

That sucks to hear. You can by iron-on transfer paper at the office supply store that you can put through your printer and iron onto your clothing.

emichele20 04-06-2008 02:50 PM

Damn thanks for letting me know. I was gonna order some stuff from there too.

Halcyon 04-06-2008 02:51 PM

have you called them? I've returned a ton of stuff that didn't come out like I wanted it to. (and have kept a bunch that I love.)

bdld 04-06-2008 03:58 PM

their quality is bad, but i wouldnt even think of a chargeback unless they didnt send the order and refuse a refund or something along those lines.

iMind 04-06-2008 04:04 PM

Well, it's been a few years since I last ordered anything, but I was super impressed with the printed T's I ordered, I'd have a look at the person that designed the tshirt, chances are the design was done at the wrong resolution which would give a shitty result for sure.

I still have one of the shirts and it's been like 4 years and the fabric is starting to frey and develop holes but the print still looks great actually.

Chris 04-06-2008 04:48 PM

we bought a ton for my daughter and they all turned out really well

bet it was the art provider who put in low quality pictures

zazzle is the shit tho :)

Rochard 04-06-2008 09:22 PM

I also have a store on Cafepress, although mostly just so I can print up my own shirts..... Never had a problem with them.
