Why are overweight women called BBW and men just fat?

anyone knows why overweight men are called fat or a slob while women are refered as BBW?

marcop 04-05-2008 05:26 PM

The acronyn "BBW" is a euphemism for "fat" or "slob" when referring to women... that's all.

shermo 04-05-2008 05:30 PM

Maybe you ought to coin the term BBM.

Fat men are Robust

BV 04-05-2008 05:43 PM

the second "B" is the difference

Eriic 04-05-2008 05:45 PM

Just go to slobs.com

Sebastian Sands 04-05-2008 05:46 PM

Actually they are called BHM, If I am correct it stands for Big handsome Men/man.

And sure the second B in BBW is of personal taste, just as the H would be in BHM.
These things are very personal people can debate about it forever, waste of time though.
Use that time to throw up some good BBW links and make fat checks with it.. hehehe

Total double standard.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 04-05-2008 05:52 PM

bbw is only used by fat chicks and guys who like fatchicks. to everyone else they are just fat chicks...

OG LennyT 04-05-2008 05:52 PM

Men are not beautiful, fat or skinny.

GrouchyAdmin 04-05-2008 06:06 PM

Because the only fetish that works for fat men is already coined 'Bear.'

Darkland 04-05-2008 06:08 PM

First off I bet it wasnt a man who came up with that term...

and secondly...

Most women, not all, are so insecure with themselves that they create this separate fantasy world, or reality if you like, to help them deal with day to day life.

I mean seriously, havent you ever wondered why no matter what you do a woman will find fault with it or in an argument, regardless of the winner, you still lose. They make up their own rules that only they can break and they are so cleverly written that a man will never understand them.

The moral of the story?

Never question why women do what they do because it is the ultimate paradox and has no decernible meaning to the logical male. Plus letting them have their way makes them happier.

i am not sure why. but this thread just makes me smile :-)

BobG 04-05-2008 08:01 PM

men's feelings don't really get hurt if you call them fat. They'll just laugh or stare at you for an extra second and then turn and swig another beer and say fuck it, where women might cry or get disturbed so it's a way of treading lightly. Also, it's more polite to say, "yeah, I like BBWs" then it is to say, "sure I'll still fuck you even if you're fat since I haven't been laid in a while".

RTP 04-05-2008 08:18 PM

Because women needs to belong and associate with something or group regardless whatever it may be.

LHM - Large Handsome Men?

Those of you who are interested in the history of BBW Magazine, you may be in for a surprise. There was actually a time when the term "BBW" did not exist. A woman named Carole Shaw came up with the terms "Big Beautiful Woman" and "BBW" and decided to launch a magazine over a quarter of a century ago - in 1979, to be exact. Carole began publishing BBW Magazine and it quickly became a unique resource for Big Beautiful Women everywhere - a resource that grew and endured for decades.

Why are women who are NOT overweight called fat just for being AVERAGE weight? Why are women who are only ten pounds overweight marketed as fatties, plumpers, and BBWs?

Why are underweight anorexic skin & bones girls called "natural", "beautiful", and are the ONLY body type you see on all the Hegre-copy sites when, if there weren't a negative double standard regarding heavy women, these often sickly, underweight girls should be marketed as "freaks", "skeletons", etc.?

BBW isn't a term that's embraced by the mainstream or the majority of people, so let's not make it seem like it's some unfair politically-correct advantage that fat chicks are given. And don't even act like men are held to a harsher standard of physical beauty than women are. Yeah, you might call a guy a fat slob but take a chick who is equally overweight and TRUST, she faces more discrimination and hatred than a guy ever could dream of.

BBW, curvy, thick all have been bastardized. Fat women use them as a euphemism because they are in denial and don't want to come clean and say they're fat and too lazy to lose the weight. Curvy used to mean a thin girl with a nice round ass and hips that compliment her big tits, now when a women describe herself as curvy I am thinking "fat fuck"

The so called average person in America is pretty fat, let's face it. Obesity is an epidemic in this country. If a woman was *really* only ten pounds overweight she would still be considered by most people at a glance to be fairly thin in her clothes. But what you have is women (and men for that matter) who are 20, 30, even 40 or more pounds overweight thinking they are just a "little" overweight and considering themselves average just because they aren't morbidly obese and waddling around.

I'm talking about standards set by medical professionals versus pop culture, not by people in denial about their health (not that it makes a difference regarding my argument). I was also talking about porn industry stuff, so here are some examples just of galleries in my box today:

Look at the girls called "fatties" and BBW who are far from being obese or even fat (chubby maybe), especially the girl in the graphic:
http://fpfreegals.com/fotos/yf/seven...tml?id=trixiej
http://fpfreegals.com/fotos/yf/seven...tml?id=trixiej

Granted, this is partly just a marketing ploy and it's really only one example, but I see this shit every day. Those are girls who look to have healthy BMIs.

Then a little reminder of what we accept without question or attaching any freakish label to it even though they are clearly underweight:

http://nudes.gallerycarre.com/gallhit/100865/1543/2/2/0
http://www.preggolicious.com/tgp_tem...U2/morning_sun

It's not that I think skinny girls should be treated like freaks, I'm just pointing out the skewed standards that we squick over the least bit of chub but think a chick who is skin and bones is a precious work of fucking art.

Whatever. Enough time-wasting for me tonight.

Let me guess, you're 24? And you know what "curvy used to mean"? Curvy never ever meant thin before the Maxim generation came around.

Snake Doctor 04-06-2008 12:08 AM

Because fat chicks are HAWT

FWIW there is a term for big guys, BHM (big handsome male) but it's not used as often as bbw.

Dagwolf 04-06-2008 12:12 AM

I am called "Large and In Charge" by my admirers. Those wh o called me fat have been sat upon, and learned t he error of their ways.
