They have done very well for themselves, especially considering how much debt they were in due to lawyer fees fighting the scandals in the mid to late 90's. Their lawyer fees well exceeded the salary of the president during those times.

Seems since Regan that the new standard is be president and do well, but make the real money when your done and go on speaking engagements.

What I thought was impressive is they didn't try to find every loophole for deductions and paid 31% taxes over those 6 years which is roughly 10% more than the average for income earners like them.

They paid their taxes, and have donated at least 10 million dollars.

And they didn't get their money from anything really illegal.

Don't hate them for being rich. They are an example - do as good as them or better.

It amazes me to no end how every time someone mentions the name Bush, the forum is making fun of his inability to speak (and let's face it, he sucks as a speaker), but when it comes to Clinton, the message is invariably "Don't hate!" - even when there's been no implication of such.

Bush and Cheney's returns are public. Bush has been making less than a million a year. Cheney much better. Not sure if Bush might be accumulating assets somewhere.
