The news is reporting he was driving a '67 Fiat BTM, however, there is no such car. In 1967 Fiat made an 1100R, 125, 125 Special Berlina, 1500 Cabriolet, Dino Coupé 2.0 and a Dino Spider 2.0. If was a '67 Fiat, I think you can rule out the convertibles as he'd likely be dead if he flipped one.

I said the news not the linked article. More than 1 story is out there.

So basically, if you're billionaire Seinfeld, and got the publicist right there, you can speed the car to hell and flip it over and be called a hero, and overall be just fine.

Otherwise you'd be just fined.

This is why I like free countries. You got something to live for.

WebCashMaker 04-04-2008 02:29 AM

Of note, the article claims that Seinfeld was driving a 1967 Fiat BTM, however, Fiat produced no such model in 1967.

Says he wasn't speeding, judging by the lack of skid marks.

But yeah, if I did that in Ontario I would have been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and street racing.

fluffygrrl 04-04-2008 06:20 AM

You show me how you can overturn a car doing 30mph or less. Please. I'll pay for the car. I'll pay for your time. I just want exclusive fucking rights to the vid.

It would be possible if the car went sideways into a grass ditch that was at a lower level than the road.

If this was all even ground with no ditch, then Jerry and the cops are lying their asses off.

Well, he was lucky not to be injured...

Well I may be from the sticks but all the cars I ever saw go forward not sideways.

And there's plenty of ditches all over the Hamptons, and like half burnt tyres and once I saw a windshield right in the middle of the road.

Gimme a break.

They said he cranked the wheel sharply to the right and slammed on the parking brake. We're not talking about a vehicle with antilock brakes here. If a person did that and the car slid into a ditch or uneven ground on the side of the road then it's certainly possible to roll it.

Using your logic a vehicle should never be able to roll, since they always go forwards instead of sideways.

fluffygrrl 04-04-2008 10:20 AM

A vehicle doing 30 mph or less MAY be able to roll. But his fliped over.

My comment about going forwards was more because you were making it sound like it was just, you know, cruising around, going sideways.

A vehicle doing 30mph an hour in it's normal, intended by design direction, MAY roll, and go sideways, but not at 30mph. It just doesn't have the energy. And a vehicle moving at 30mph that skids and goes sideways would still need some pretty fucking uneven ground to flip over.

Think about it. If you go 30 and slide and hit the curb, you stop. If you do 50 and you slide and hit the curb, the car maybe lifts a little. But flip over ? Thats 90+.
