What's currently the best airline in your opinion?
I have flown the following airlines in the past year or so:
American Airlines US Airways Southwest Continental Delta Air Canada Westjet Of all these, I have to say Air Canada was the best. Newest aircraft with nice direct flights from Montreal to LA, and very cool "on demand" movies and shows on the back of every seat on the airplane. Westjet is a very close second. |
WestJet has the hotter stewardesses. If your really nice, they sometimes will let you sneak a peek at their garters :)
|
I flew WestJet for the first time last month and they are right up there with Jet Blue imo.
|
My vote is for Southwest...But my opinion is a bit biased.
|
and what about KLM, Lufthansa and such??
Otherwise, yes, my vote goes for Air Canada too |
in order:
West Jet Southwest AirTran Continental Jetblue fell off my list because of the massive delays I experience every time I fly them. |
I usually fly only northwest because detroit is there main hub but I recently few on frontier and I like them a lot tv in every seat and they have the best headrests
|
British Airways for trans Atlantic.
|
Northwest/KLM
|
international flights Singapore Airlines kicks ass....Emirates Is also nice.
|
i think your method a poor way to judge an airline, some fly nicer planes on more popular routes, so to base it on the age of the plane and value of the entertainment on board is pretty weak.
For instance KLM/NWA Amsterdam to Seattle has nicer entertainment on it then Amsterdam to Los Angeles. Both have free liquor though, so doesn't bother me. Emirates is very nice as is Singapore, as an all around airline. Iv heard nice things about one of the Thai airlines also but have no first hand experience. |
|
dont really like Air Canada, try and use anything else instead:winkwink:
|
I just gave Montreal to LA as an example. I have no idea how popular a route it is.
How else do you want me to judge them? I had much better experiences on the ones I mentioned. I didn't expect all the hands up for WestJet. Interesting. |
that depends where are you flying, air canada service is good but they will charge you even for the air you breath, Recently I flight with spirit airlines, it was cheap but the service was terrible

Air Berlin - but you have to come over to Europe to fly with them.

Because they're doing massage on board =) |
Lufthansa is the best airline I have ever flown on. Great food, open bar, and the best stewardesses.

so dam cheap and when they have their offer days i go crazy. i am flying to denmark and norway for 4p, not taxes no nothing, the flights have been paid for, done and dusted. beat those prices. even without offers prices are under £70 usually. uncorftable planes and shit customer service, but at that price who cares? |

the only thing i did not like is dubai airport - their main hub. i dunno why but i really hated the place. |
Singapore and Emirates, in general many airlines from the asian and arab region are top notch (Thai is good, Malaysia, Quatar)
Unfortunately many US and european airlines suck, especially when it comes to service, worst service award goes to US Airways. |
Definitely Swiss for international flights
|
Southwest, they sure do know how to pack'em in!

Other airlines I've flown recently include Continental - 3 1/2 hour delay stuck in Houston, TX. - I was exhausted as I didn't get any sleep before the flight - and to top it all off, the all the seats in the waiting area of the Houston airport all have arm rests, so no where to lay down and nap when you're flight's delayed 3 1/2 hrs! lol U.S Airways - Something about that company I don't like... just seems very dark. West Jet - have to pay $5 to watch a movie - and a very limited selection. American Airlines - Flown with them twice - all flights on time - good service - no complaints. Air Canada - Once again, no complaints. United - No complaints |
I should mention one other that nobody else did.
Aerlingus I flew them once. Amsterdam to Dublin on New Year's Day 2000. Personally, I thought it was a great flight but it felt like St. Patricks Day on that plane. |

It all depends on if you are traveling domestic or longhaul on a lot of these airlines. For example, with US Airways they are pretty crap for domestic flights BUT of all the airlines I have traveled between the UK and the States they have been the one I enjoy the most. They have the best entertainment system in coach than any of the other transatlantic players, have only been slightly delayed once out about about half a dozen return trips and the seating is comfortable even when I was at my largest size.
British Airways is okay but not as good in coach as people would make you think. |
southwest baby !
|
Lufthansa ...easy one!
