Fastest UFC knockout ever
 

Both men love to brawl and have knockout power in both hands.
But what happened at the Broomfield Events Center was almost hard to believe. Irvin knocked Alexander down with a right hand and then landed two punches while Alexander was on his back.

Referee Steve Mazzagatti jumped in just eight seconds in and stopped it to a chorus of boos. It tied the mark for the fastest end to a UFC fight.

That was a horrible stoppage IMO. He could have waited another 5 seconds to be sure. All that does is just piss off the fans.

Look at how many times Noguera has been knocked on his ass, then the ref gave him a chance to fight his way out of it, and he comes back to win the fight.

Anthony Johnson's complete knockout of Tommy Speer was more entertaining to me, unfortunately there's no clips of it up on youtube yet.

Good call. He was stunned and would have gotten completely pummeled if it continued.

nog tends to maintain some level of conscious defense though. alexander's hands went wide and were dropping limp, mazzagatti called it right. by the time his hands hit the mat, his head would have already been still and flat, and he would have taken another big wound up right straight to the face. it wasn't necessary, we all know damn well it was over....

mazzagatti had some bad stoppages before but i wouldnt consider this one of them. that guy didnt slip, he was out.

I know they said it tied... but I thought the one I was thinking of was faster... so the fact that two tied wasn't the point. But it was a flying knee at the start of a round mid-match I was thinking of. It was early when I posted that... the mind hadn't woken up yet. Come to think of it, it's still asleep. ;)

Anyway, that knee was five seconds into the round, and as Kevsh astutely pointed out, it was also James Irvin. THE KNEE

Whoever on Tommy's side thought that would be a good fight for him should be fired. Tommy did not look good in his two TUF wins (he was very, very close to losing both early) and Danzig dominated him in the finale. Tommy has farmboy strength that helps against inferior opponents - but once he starts fighting live UFC events like this he can't rely on it.

He needs to really go back home and learn solid standup as well as something more than wrestling on the ground.

The flying knee guy was good, his oponent shat his pants though and just froze taking it right in the face.

If Alexander didn't like the 8 minute stopage he shouldn't have fell like a bitch! Or he should've took Irvin to the grouind with him!
