Blame Canada?
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...nletter_newsUp
When a 15-year-old girl sneaked out of the house for the umpteenth time to meet her drug-dealing boyfriend at a party, her father went after her in his truck. He spotted her at a pay phone near their home outside Picton, Ont., and told her to get in. She refused, and he grabbed her by the shirt and shoved her into the truck. They headed home, but the girl took off again and made it to the party. The parents managed to get their daughter home later, but only after calling police for help. The shirt-grabbing incident didn't end there. The father, who can't be named to protect his daughter's identity, was charged with assault, setting off a two-year legal battle that tested the limits of how far a parent can go to discipline a teen under the Criminal Code. Thank god he got cleared eventually but how freakin stupid is somthing like this? If the dad forces his uncooperative daughter into the car, it's assault. If the parents kick the daughter out of the house, it's neglect. If the parents allow the daughter to do whatever the hell she pleases, it's enabling. Win freakin win baby. |
The lesson here is simple.
Spare the rod, kill the boyfriend. |
Where the hell do they even have pay phones anymore?
|
So if you punish them to much = You the parent gets in trouble.
If you don't punish them enough = You the parent gets in trouble. sheeeeez |
You can't discipline them at all anymore and they know it.My old man would beat me with a belt if I did something bad
|
Kids are getting worse because their is no discipline...You are damned if you do, damned if you dont...But one things for sure, if I am going to jail or something for discipling my kid...I'm damn well gonna make it count!

Fuck the police, they don't do ANY good at all, Protection? just make sure everybody owns a gun and you'll see shit like robbery and muggings non existent fast. |
I'm not sure I understand the correlation between the thread title and the discipline problem.

You couldn't see this happening in the USA? I wouldn't be surprised to find out a teenager was sueing his parents for grounding him or something.
p.s. i'm having trouble seeing my watch clearly... |
Let social services take 'em, that'll really beat a lesson into them fast. :)
|
It's happening in a lot of places, not just here. but you're right... blame Canada, definitely. :D
Strange thing is that even after examples like this there are still people who don't agree with administering any real meaningful punishment to kids. There are obviously other problems in that home but here you have a parent who is willing to do what it takes to keep his daughter in line and is being persecuted for it. I'm sorry but when they're young and need the teaching and the hard lessons, sometimes a good spanking is exactly the thing that is needed. |

In Canada you can't yell at your kids or it's emotional abuse, if you beat them it's physical abuse, and when they grow up and rob the liquor store, it's your fault.
|
yeah they don't make the wooden spoons strong enough anymore, all made in china.
lipped off to my parents and they'd get you with the dish soap... yuck. |
