What's your take on STARBUCKS?
My opinion is that you can get real good coffee there if you leave all the sugary sirups and all that crap out and just drink it black or with pure milk.
But still way too expensive over here, like 4 euros ($6,30) a cup :Oh crap |
I used to hate it because I couldn't believe I was paying like $5 for a cup, but then I started ordering their regular brewed coffee instead of their espresso drinks (go for whatever Bold brew they have ready). You get a big ass cup of high quality coffee for $2. Plus its usually pretty strong.
SO - used to hate it, now I love it. |
We have Costa Coffee here, which appears to be where starbucks got the idea for its logo. Same exact font, logo very similar.
It's way overpriced for the amount people in this country make. Hot chocolate is about 3EUR, coffee a bit cheaper. Doesn't sound like a ton, but many people here make 1-1.5EUR/hr. |
I don't have anything at Starbucks because there's no Starbucks in Andorra, but I wouldn't pay 4? for a cup of black coffee. :)
|
Sometimes starbucks is real fun.. the seats are comfortable, they have w-lan and their ICED coffee is pretty tasty. Love to work from there.. sometimes!
|
trust me .. the coffee is garbage ! !
|
Over priced, and poor service in every one I have been in.
Dunkin Donuts has better coffee. |

I like their White Chocolate Mocha.
:) |
it's a good spot for a quick low key meeting. They have nice deserts and it is on every corner in highly populated areas.
However I wouldn't go there on a daily basis just to get a cup of coffee. |

I'm on my way now to get my morning coffee. I'm totally addicted, but I agree there's coffee as good -- or better -- in some of the mom and pop coffee shops.
LA peeps check out Intelligensia on Sunset BLVD in Silverlake. |
An iced Americana is pretty good once every seven years.

Tim Hortons for life!

looks like 50/50

for me cappuccino but it's too much....:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
|
Expensive, but worth it.
The coffee is good, and so is the service. |
They burn their beans... but I guess it's something to be said that they're consistent in doing so.
It's overpriced, imho. |
Watch the calories, though. Some of their drinks are loaded with sugar/ fat/ calories.
|
I absolutely hate them!!
|
I went to visit an old buddy who lives in the suburbs outside of San Jose. I said, "Let's go grab a cup of coffee" so we headed to Starbucks. We pull into the parking lot of the strip-mall where it's located and there are, literally, hundreds of teenagers hanging out. It was around 11pm on a Friday. I asked my buddy what the hell was going on, and he told me that Starbucks was considered a cool place to hangout.
Fuckin' weird...that shit would just never, ever happen where I live. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, and sort of off topic I know, but still...very strange. |
I drink coffee only occasionally, redbull is where it's at
|
Great company, and howard schultz is a great guy, met him many times. :)
|
Star bucks double shot in a can best drink ever made :)
|
I do not drink coffee. But I interview a lot of models there. Overrated from what I can tell.
:2 cents: |
I like starbucks, what I hate is when people fucking camp out there to study or do work. They bought small cup of coffee and they think that gives them on lease on the table for 5 hrs.
|
starbucks for convenience
I go to starbucks because It's the closest thing to work.
The taste of the coffee varies, but it's usually average. IMO Peet's coffee tastes much better. also, if you want more caffeine, order a light, not a dark roast. |

Starbucks is OK, but highly over rated. The beans are over roasted to give it that flavour, and it's not high quality coffee at all.
Coffee available in gas stations in central/south america kicks its ass, big time. |

|

Starbucks is like the "water of life" in Dune. It's what keeps me a kind of a tolerable person. So far 7-11 is about the best place to get a normal coffee around here (LA) Starbucks if for the latte. Me & Just Dave pretty much live for Starbucks :thumbsup

First let me tell you StarBucks coffee is not good coffee, its burnt ( over roasted ), not to produce a certain flavor but to make the coffee that they buy all taste the same. They buy tons of the stuff from many varied growers and each grower produces a bean that has a different flavor to make it all taste the same they over roast the bean.
Coffee should taste sweet, Starbucks tastes burnt a result of the over roasting. Dont get me wrong i admire Starbucks the company, its well run with a great ethic but their downfall of late is because they tried to do too many things. They added breakfast in some shops and salads ( pre prepared ) in others, they should stick to what they do best, sell overpriced burnt coffee and provide a welcoming environment to hang out. If you want to taste real coffee pop in to one of the gourmet coffee shops you will find them in every city I use Cafe Joie in Mission Beach great service flavorful tasting coffee free wi-fi, relaxing environment and situated on Mission Blvd near the beach you have a never ending supply of bikini clad babes coming in and out all day. StarBucks has dumbed down coffee and its now what a lot of people expect coffee to taste like. Once you taste coffee that has been roasted fresh each day and correctly pressed on a manual machine you will never go back to Starbucks :2 cents: |
I just love to collect those cool coffee mugs.
and enjoy internet access. |

I get my coffee at Esso
|
I like it. I usually go for the regular coffee with cream and sugar so its not that expensive.
|
don't love it or hated, occasionally buy coffee there, it's just like any coffee
|
Living in the Philippines now you can't help but go to a Starbucks if you're a coffee drinker. There's one in every block and I'm not even close to kidding. It's just convenient and they keep long hours. I recently started drinking my latte with skim milk and DAMN, you can really taste the shitty coffee.
Thank goodness that a new coffee shop opened close to the office that serves decent coffee. Just discovered it yesterday but I've already been there 3 times. I miss San Diego where there are tons of small awesome coffee shops. If you are there you might already know of Gelato Vero in between Mission Hills and Hillcrest, great gelato, good coffee and great atmosphere. :thumbsup |
over priced
over rated you can get way better coffee :2 cents: |
I am one of the few people on the planet that doesn't like coffee so I have only been into a Starbucks a few times and only with somebody that does drink it. Their hot chocolate is nice but not enough to make me go on in my own.
