Redtube for sale - check what I received before a while

You all know I am against this shit, I won't share any confidential information but this is what I received before a while, I knew the guy was trying to sell that a couple months ago, now he engaged a third party company to do it:

-------------------
Subject: Acquisition opportunity/confidentiality agreement

To: Corporate Development

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

We would like to inform you about an acquisition opportunity. The potential target (the "Target") operates an internet based business, is the world's leading company in its segment, derives its revenue from selling website ad space and generates very high free cash flow margins. The Target's website offers users a number of features (including video uploading/sharing), attracts 5 million visitors daily, ranks among Alexa's top 50 and business volume is growing at double digit rates per month on all measures. On a monthly basis our traffic metrics approximate 40 mio unique visitors, 150 mio visits and 1.2 bn page views.

Our shareholders have decided to offer the company/its assets for sale and we hereby invite you to participate in the sale process.

In case you are interested and would like to receive detailed information on the target, we ask you to complete the attached Confidentiality Agreement and email a scan of the signed document back to us. Please be so kind to also initial the document on pages 1 -4.

Once we have received the signed agreement we can provide you with the Selling Memorandum and further information regarding the sale process.

For record keeping, please send the signed original of the Confidentiality Agreement per postal mail to us at below address.

We would appreciate you participating in the sale process. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us by email at --------------------------- or by telephone.

Looking forward to being in contact with you

Best regards,

-------------------------

This is no shit - this is a real offer that came to our biz dev email, I would be, just out of curiousity interested for how much are they actually offering that, but of course even if I knew I couldn't publish it..

pocketkangaroo 03-28-2008 01:27 PM

Interesting. If they are spamming this out, it would seem to be they aren't as profitible as once thought.

CarlosTheGaucho 03-28-2008 01:30 PM

well seems they want to get rid of the can of worms and thought we might be interested.. I assume there are people mainly outside the actual internet biz who could easily consider buying it...

thoughts?

interesting news...

CarlosTheGaucho 03-28-2008 01:58 PM

What is your guess for the asking price?

Rumours six months ago are about a million - noone in the biz would buy it, or will they?

BSleazy 03-28-2008 01:58 PM

I wonder what they'll get for it.

CunningStunt 03-28-2008 02:01 PM

The porn equivalent of youtube, making money from stolen content. Neat idea.

Maybe google will buy it? :1orglaugh

CarlosTheGaucho 03-28-2008 02:09 PM

Here is the pricing from Etology to sell spots at Redtube:

http://www.etology.com/buying-space-...8829&EID=51331

Let's try to calculate how much can they earn in a month from advertising..

slapass 03-28-2008 02:13 PM

the advertising looks just a bit spendy..

Duration (Days) Avg. Clicks Price Avg. CPC
1 39 $3,505.00 $89.87
3 117 $10,515.00 $89.87
7 273 $27,600.00 $101.10

Yeah, tell me who in their right mind would spend almost 120k a month.

What return of investment would you want, 240k?

Ok so that would mean say 8k of a profit a day, that would mean say 300 - 400 signups / day.

So you would have to get say 400 - 600 k uniques a day, in case it would be more or less convertible traffic, yet there is one diffference - it's 25k full legth movies to jerk off to and the traffic is totally untargeted..

I don't believe Etology sold one single package at this rate..

obviously not.

and It must be printed in every webmaster's minds.

L-Pink 03-28-2008 02:37 PM

OLD NEWS.

The sale went thru about a week ago. So far I am very pleased. Never having owned a business with zero cost of goods before the financial statements are stunning. Thank you content shooters for the great work (you to Paul)

Well, back to the grindstone this user submitting stuff is time consuming. I'll post a new email address for DMCA stuff as soon as I find someone illiterate to respond for me.

PS .... still waiting on my bro club card.

300 - 400 clicks would cost around $3,000 - $4,000 for a signup! No proggie can afford that cost.

Deputy Chief Command 03-28-2008 02:59 PM

interesting . . mabye AFF buys it

FreeHugeMovies 03-28-2008 03:02 PM

Maybe Sean from AFF can tell us why AFF has to buy it, bc if the don't, AFF will lose it to a competitor.

Wonder how much those 5 mills a day would turn into if someone bough it and converted it into a legal tube site

It would probably take weeks to get rid of all the stolen content in there and exchange it with the sponsors promo content.

You could probably buy feeds or something in the meantime but even if say 40 pct. of the traffic could be potentially monetizable, much of this 40 pct. will still most likely move to their other favourite illegal sites that piss on DMCA and that they allready visit...

xmas13 03-28-2008 03:51 PM

What? $25,000 for 1,500 adult visitor clicks???????????????????

eMonk 03-28-2008 04:42 PM

i don't think pirated tubes will make it out alive by the end of the year.

madfuck 03-28-2008 04:43 PM

that sure would be nice but it will take a lot of processing yet till the first sheriffs shots hit the target. The only issue that could make it happen would be purely economical.

I guess AFF buys their other spots, how much can they pay for it so they get a decent ROI?

25k a month? more?

crockett 03-29-2008 06:41 AM

Someone should start a quick law suite with them.. That way there is no hiding the fact they will end up getting sued out of business.

I made some effort to find the original offer from September 2007, it's quite interesting, let me just upload it and I will share that..

CarlosTheGaucho 03-29-2008 11:43 AM

This is what was published at AWIW in september 2007:

Unfortunately, the link ain't working anymore and I haven't stored that..

Now I couldn't help myself to comment on that, and I indeed received a prompt and complex answer:

Well antoher thing is - the heavenly-minded, true Christians sure don't hesitate to market other porn sites:

Who would even want to consider such a bullshit as the reason?

a million? thats quite cheap compared to what the owners of youporn.com wanted, and that was $20 Million (or was it pornotube.com?)

edit: I see their alexa ranked improved a lot compard to 6 months ago, so I guess they must want much more than a $ million now

First we need a committee to handle things like this redtube site. the most important, wealthy and trusted people from this board should form a 11 man committee. gfy will hold nominations and voting and elections. once formed the committee will police the internet and combine thier resorces to help the less fortunate and sue redtube like sites or just outright buy it and shut it down. the members of this committee must have insite of the future of the porn industry and how it should be run.
