You are out in town and you ate or drank something that has left you with a bit of garbage (packaging, etc). You don't see a trash can around. Do you put it in your pocket until you find an appropriate place or do you throw it on the ground?

Trash it somewhere.. just not right in front of me.

Pocket and I am a little weird about it in that even people with me have to wait to find a garbage can. I have picked up stuff they have thrown and then find a place for it.... yeah I know.

I put it in my pocket or throw it in my truck. I sometimes pick up garbage that other dickheads leave in the mountains because they are lazy and disrespectful of good ol mother earth.

I burn it as an offering to the Norse Gods. They dig that shit.

I would never throw it on the ground, and much like C_U_Next_Tuesday- I will pick others up as well. I will also make mention of my distaste if I see someone else litter.
We only have one earth, what is so hard to understand about that?

I am also a pocket person...for various safety reasons trash bins are hard to find around London. I always have a pocket full of rubbish waiting to be thrown. I just got back from shopping and was amazed at number of people that have no problem throwing stuff to the ground and just walking away.

The stack of garbage in the front passenger side of my car testifies to the fact that I'll put something in my car rather than litter. If I'm just walking though, like out somewhere I guess, most of my clothes don't have pockets, so depends what it is I'd expect. It doesn't really come up often.

If I am on a street or sidewalk, i'll pocket it. If its in the resturautns parking lot, i'll throw it on the ground. I know someone will pick it up from the parking lot.

Just burn it with my lighter.

I keep plastic grocery bags in my rides for just the times....

If I am walking down the street and it can go in my pocket I will put it there, but if not I will carry my trash till I find a place to properly dispose of it..

i just carry it until i see a trash can. dunno why. maybe i should litter more.

i do not throw garbage anywhere... ill put it in my pocket or hold it till i found a trash can.

Anybody remember the litter bug campaign from the early 80's? That must have really stuck with me because that is the phrase that always comes to mind when I see people dropping trash.

I was just talking about this with a friend today. There are few things that piss me off more than seeing someone throw trash on the street when there are trash cans all over the place.

I once killed a guy in Phoenix for flinging a cigarette out of his window.

Don't even get me started on that one. Every day when I take mine for a walk I am dodging other dog's poop. I always clean up after mine so I don't see why other owners can't either.

I never litter my trash, i simply put it inside my pocket or keep it inside my bag then will throw it at home. My mom sometimes even saw those garbages in my bag and will asked, "where did these thrashes come from?". lol

We're in the 21st century, it's just plain sad that certain people still doesn't care about the environment. :(

Throwing trash on the ground is just plain ignorant. I'll be the first to admit I've been guilty of such in the past. I've also had trash (usually packaging and plastic) inadvertently end up flying out onto the street given that I drive a convertible.

I will look around for an adequate place to dispose of trash after eating or drinking something. It's simply common sense -- if you drop it on the ground someone will have to pick it up eventually.

What I find interesting is the mentality of smokers who throw their butts on the sidewalk. Isn't that also littering?

I ain't putting trash in my pockets, I carry it until I find a trash can. What's with the pocket thing anyway? Are some of you too embarrassed to walk around with trash in your hand?

it depends on my mood I guess.....sometimes I would hold on to it until I find a trash can, other times I just toss it on the street no matter where I am .....

I never throw my rubbish on the ground I hate seeing rubish on the side walks or in parks. I allways carry it until I find a bin, Had to drill this into my two teenage kids.... but they dont throw rubbish on the ground anymore now..well not when Im around anyway

No but it could be hours between me being in the center of London and getting back home to throw something away. Hence, put it in the pocket or handbag.

My dogs are city dogs. So, they need to be taken on a walk everyday since we don't have a yard (but a very large balcony). The spaniel refuses to poop on a walk but the pug makes up for them both.
