i love this shit. Back when it was the cheap beer I used to inhale it, now that everybody knows it's decent the price has gone up. BOOOOO. I drink their other cheap beer now. Clear Creek Ice, it's good shit too!

Regarding beer, the most exciting things in the entire world right now are coming from American homebrewers and microbreweries.

Interest is exploding, palates are refining, and meanwhile, all of the worlds ingredients are at our fingertips with no real sense of tradition to confine our recipes.

I'm excited to live in a time where I can experience it.

I never trust beer distributed in either clear or green bottles.

Both clear and green bottles allow certain wavelengths of sunlight to pass through that turn the hop oils in the beverage and skunk the beer. :2 cents:

Brown and opaque bottles, on the other hand, do not allow those wavelengths to pass through.

Every brewer/brewery knows this fact... if a beer comes in a clear or green bottle, it generally means that the company places the value of marketing (after all, clear and green bottles look "cool") over the quality of their product.

That's why, to this day, I think whatever exec at Corona said "let's put a lime in our beer" was a genius... he offered a solution that both gave the beer a gimmick, and covered the usually inherant skunky taste that the beer had due to transport.

A little sidefact for ya: In Holland, domestically, Heineken come in brown bottles. They only put their exports in the green.

I'm guessing Corona, themselves, had something to do with the way that's worded on Wikipedia.

I've heard that "myth" spouted from the lips of Mr. Michael Jackson (the late beer expert), himself, over a couple of pints at Lucky Baldwin's in Pasadena.

I'll take the word over the guy who was, in his life, considered the world's foremost beer authority over that of wikipedia any day of the week. :2 cents:
