im not a fan of the workflow of the cards as of right now...
the z1u is a good camera from all the research I did... I chose it over the v1u because of the ccd vs cmos everything I Read said ccd is the way to go cmos is no good... I did not want the fx7 or fx1 because of the lack of control over the camera.. there more for mom and pops...
I shoot other stuff besides porn so I needed something that would hold up....Comment

im happy so far with what I got as far as the z1u I still need to play with compression and what not...

I still think 99% of good video is proper lighting and someone behind that camera that knows how to adjust for said proper lighting...
why you think aarons shit is good when it comes to photography.. he knows what the fuck he's doin... I wish I could shoot pictures as good as I do video...Comment

Saw it last year at NAB. the line was insane.......I like it but still a bit pricey for my taste. Maybe when the next gen comes out. And there is no such thing as over kill for porn :D

hell yeah I plan on going on all the days to NAB I like to hit the workshops while there as well... I am always down to have a convention partner for these shows.. makes it not so boring.. I got the gangster parking as well...
if you drive around back to the sports-book of the hilton off of joe w brown you can park there for free just act local and be like im hitting the buffet and making a few bets.. keep your badge hidden and your all good... when you walk out who cares your leaving LOL...

There is a new Panasonic coming out that records to regular SD cards, ya know the ones that go in your still camera. They are super inexpensive and the new compression gives you like 12hours of recording time in HD 720 on a 32 gig card. Pretty fucking amazing if you ask me. No special super expensive card reader or drive to buy, just a plain fire wire card reader. AG-MHC150 Check it!

Take a look at www.redrelay.net for tons of RED footage.
My issue with these cams besides the price (still good compared to varicam etc) is the expensive workflow and how large the data is for storage.

yeah I love HD so far but it has it's downsides that I see so far..
1 being no quick pans.. anything more than a slow pan blurrs it up... which is cool gives a nice cinema effect...
2. bad lowlight... forget shooting stuff like bumfights on HD cams.. way to much gain needs to be used then you get a mean shift...
also anyone else notice reds wash on all HD cams.. strange huhComment
