Teens against porn

It's a simple question. Are you? Have you ever decided to stop? Yeah, so have we. How long did it last for you? Have you ever had any of the following thoughts:

Maybe if I just prayed more, God would take it away.
Maybe if I really meant it, I would be able to keep my promise.
Maybe when I get married, I won't need it anymore.
Maybe God will give up on me, and I'll lose my salvation.
Am I the only one trapped in this sin?

The trouble with these types of websites is they are not giving the underage teens who are addicted to porn proper help or advice instead they are fillling their heads up with religious rubbish.

Viewing porn might feel good for those few minutes , but afterwards life hits you square in the face.I personally am very sorry , and feel ive disrespected all the Women out there.Porn is sick and you think sick afterwards , so ive made this tread to like to convey my sorry to women out there amd would like to encourage other to do the same.

There is a sex shop in London that is pretty much right next to the Astoria concert venue. I have seen teenage girls sit across from the shop and shout and boo at the people that go in and out of it. It isn't even a scummy shop as far as sex shops go..one of the chains where women are suppose to feel more welcome.

When I see them do that it reminds me of when I was a teenage girl and thought a lot more things in life were black and white.

What does Jesus have to do with this? It seems to me that ppl on this board hate religion just because there are (especially in the US) so many religious fantics who use Jesus as a tool and excuse for everything. Why are ppl on gfy so intolerant of religion? Jesus taught many good things. If you're pissed at what some protestant fucks are doing in the name of Jesus, take it out on them, but "fuck you jesus" is really stupid thing to say. :2 cents:

I think these are people with real problems. Not different from a drug or alcohol addiction. Definitely not somehting to laugh at. It's obvious from reading their forum that they want to give it up. Why anyone would laugh at someone's elses addictions and struggles to give it up is beyong me.

And to think, all that time they could be getting laid ... maybe that's why they're so angry?

Anyone that thinks sex is going away, or that you can hide from it is an idiot.

The more sexuality is denied, the more it becomes an obsession.

Xniphobe 03-24-2008 11:08 AM

I wonder why I've never seen any credible scientific evidence to substantiate the claim that porn "addiction" even exists...Oh wait, now I remember--it's because there is no such evidence.

Are there people who allow porn to become an out-of-control, negative force in their lives? Hmmm...given what I've seen of human nature, I'd have to say the answer is most likely a resounding "Yes!" There are also people who allow religion to become an out-of-control, negative force in their lives, but I doubt there are many folks who'd show much sympathy for people flapping about and whining how they've been victimized by "religion addiction."

...so why we so willing to put up with this "porn addiction" nonsense?

If you're conflicted about your own involvement in this industry, fine. But you shouldn't allow your own confusion to lead you into legitimizing claims that are utterly baseless. And that's what claims of porn "addiction" are: entirely without merit.

To those who will respond vociferously to this post without bothering to so much as read it, let alone give it fair consideration, I say unto thee, go and fuck thyself.

Word.

Aphrodite was known for wreaking havoc in the lives of those who disrespected her--generally those who considered themselves too "upright" to be associated with the values she represented. Generally, Aphrodite punished these "upstanding citizens" by causing them to fall into whatever sexual practice was considered the most perverse by the society in which they were so heavily invested.

If people had the wisdom to demonstrate more reverence for Aphrodite, they'd have much less to fear from their own desire.

Of course there's no such thing as "porn addiction" and anyone blessed with at least a half dozen functioning brain cells knows as much. What these idiots point to as "evidence" are the obsessions of folks with clinical mental issues such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and the like.

If there's no such thing as an addiction to porn, then please tell me how this could possibly be a billion dollar industry?

I see...so any industry that rises to the level of a billion dollars in sales does so by way of its feeding an "addiction" ???

Hmmm...I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there are A LOT of billion dollar industries in the world.

Do you seriously wish to suggest that all billion dollar industries are the result of clinical addictions?

Sex sells; it always has and it always will.

You don't have to be addicted to purchase something that you enjoy.

pornmasta 03-24-2008 12:29 PM

bascillay you can be addicted to nearly everything (housework, verification, religion... and porn too)

Basically religion works like an obsessional disorder

no...basically, you cannot be "addicted" to nearly everything. Unless you wish to convince the vast majority of society to refashion how they generally interpret the word "addiction" the claim that you can be "addicted" to almost anything is, quite simply, false.

pornmasta 03-24-2008 12:50 PM

that's wrong, i'll explain you why:

Basically your behavior in directed by neurotransmitters, each of these neurotransmitters have an effect on your behavior, and bascially you can associate want you want with a behavior (images, symbolism).
If a behavior have a special meaning for you, you may try to reach a feeling with a behavior (for example: "i'm clean" when i'm washing myself), or because of a falicies (you have never defined when you are really clean, so you can continue and because you think you need you start over and over) or because you take an habbit (you are always doing the same thing so you even don't thing to do simething else because you feel more confortable).
Also you can produce too much neurotransmitters and since they are linked with behavior you are using them for their related behavior (fear, violence...)

So if you have an example of something that can cause an addiction let me know.

(btw for me obsessional disorders are addictions, because you are addicted to a behavior and you can get out of it)
For porn you are watching it because it causes a stimulation, but it is bascially something like any other source of stimulation.

pornmasta 03-24-2008 12:57 PM

"So if you have an example of something that can cause an addiction let me know" the good sentence was:

"So if you have an example of something that can't cause an addiction let me know"
