tony286 03-21-2008 08:26 PM

Fucksakes 03-21-2008 08:30 PM

is it really that strong to do that?.. really sad.

That's really sad.

jesus poor little girl. There is no need to have such powerful pumps on pools and especially if it is only a wading pool. I dont understand how these people who build wading pools and they know it will be used for kids can be such bloody idiots

I had a regatta equinox 30 foot above ground pool which had a pump and gravel filter I think it pumped something like 3000 gal per hour and yes some of them are very strong, although I had a skimmer with my pool it was still pretty powerfull and would suck most things into it. So yes they can be that strong

Or getting hit by a stingray while you're riding in a boat.

Both those stories are crazy! I had read about the little girl. I am truly sorry to hear that she passed away! Very sad!

VeriSexy 03-22-2008 12:16 AM

Wow.. that is horrible

After Shock Media 03-22-2008 12:22 AM

I swore they passed some laws years ago for just this reason...

Oh wait at end of story it mentions it.

rowan 03-22-2008 01:56 AM

Very sad. I don't understand why they can't use a small cage at the inlet which ensures there is plenty of surface area for water to flow through without blocking and creating a total vaccum.

Or a pipe along the side of the pool again with several openings so that if even a large number are blocked there will still be plenty of available paths for water to travel through.

The same thing happened to someone in our neighbors a few years ago:( The girl hairs got sucked into the water pump/filter thing on the wall of her pool... she died :(
