I love Indian food...although sometimes it's a bit too 'saucy' for me. But my fav would have to be Chicken Tikka Masala. Yummy!

I LOVE Indian food, though I can't spell any of it to save my life. Everything I've seen mentioned above, I've tried and love. There's an eggplant dish I like too, but can't think of the name of it. And anything lamb ;o)

You are correct, although London is not really best place to get a curry in England. Leeds / Birmingham are great.

I have tried and failed to get a decent curry in both US and Canada tons of times and it just never works out. The best effort was on the outskirts of Boston, at least they had popadums.

I have a theory that when the English gave up rule of India they sent all the talented chefs home, and sent anyone who can drive and stink up a cab to North America.

Went to Gaylord's in Vegas with DaddyHalbucks and his wife a few weeks ago.

Have to admit, even though I did not know what I was getting until it got there, it was delish.

Growing up my mom used to cook nasty yellow curries I fucking hated from time to time. It wasn't until I was an adult that I got to sample some of the more tasty Indian foods. Now I love it.

Don't forget the Saag Paneer. :)

When I became a vegetarian ... Indian food was all I ate. I still eat Indian cuisine at least 3 or 4 times a week! :thumbsup

Maybe this is beyond you but you can always ASK what it is and you can probably sample some too.

NYC has some really good spots- Tamarind, Devi, Tandoor (Queens Ny), Bukhara Grill

I disagree with you about London Curries, having tried both Leeds and Birmingham restaurants. But lets just agree to differ The reason all the best Curry restaurants are in the UK is what you said, when Great Britain gave up the rule of India they where give British passports so now you find whole towns like Hounslow, Hayes and Wembley completly populated by Indian folks. Ive been to India, Parkistan and found the curry to be quite bad. My vote for the best Indian Curry in the world goes to the Taste of Raj in the upper Richmond Road Richmond Middelsex. When i lived in Wimbledon i ate there at least 5 times a week :thumbsup:thumbsup
