It's been 22 hours cold turkey and i'm going to fucking kill someone/myself/something.
i'm thinking i should go 5 cigs a day a week, 4 cigs a day teh next week and so on. or something like that?:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: |
yes
it takes 3 days for the nicotine to leave your system If you use gum or patches that just prolongs the withdrawal. |
hang in there, see if you can make it

i've done this before and i didnt make it :( |
just look at it as being 1/3 of the way there
My husband quit cold turkey almost 6 weeks ago. The info on this page was really helpful http://whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Symptoms.html |
Fuck that, you quit. Period!! If you're out of smokes, dont you dare go get more. Understand that it's the DRUG telling you that "ohhhhhhhhh just go have ONE". It's a lie, I'm telling you.

I haven't had a cigarette since new years... neither has my bride.
I used patches, she didn't. Today, first day with no patches and I also want to go postal; my wife's fine (well, as "ok" as a chick can be). So maybe listen to JUSTB in regard to cold turkey. Just lock up your guns. On a side note, both of us sleep better due to better breathing. Food also tastes better, blah blah blah.... ------------- Where's my fucking patch? |
Gotta have a strong will to quit.smell a jar of old butts, that should make you gag

i am not spoming thx to allen cars book ..
the easy way to quit smocking .. he has 95% seccess rate . |
Talk to your doctor and get a prescription for Chantix and follow the plan exactly.
When you finish the plan you will have been quit for 1 week shy of 3 months and you should still be a free man with no criminal record - well, no extra charges anyhow if you currently have a record. |
I think its the best method for quitting any addiction.

I haven't lit a smoke in 8 years, and, honestly, if you're already thinking you goofed up, you'd probably be best served - in the long run - by lighting up again, and doing it right. Better to do it right for good than be one of those flip-floppers that quits every other year.
The key is picking a day and sticking to it, I think. It's a mind-over-matter thing, and if you're not totally in to the idea of quitting - maybe it was an impulsive decision - chances are you'll slip back at some point in the future. In my experience, you gotta be _resolved_ to quit in order to make it happen. So pick a day (2 weeks, or so, out).. maybe taper off your smoking a bit beforehand, to lessen the impact (it's still gonna suck, and not much less than it is for you now - but maybe you'll be more prepared)... maybe use an aid (I used "The Patch" myself... it helped considerably, I think... as it got me used to not smoking before my body had to deal with the real withdrawal).. Bad news with that is all the anxiety and shit you've gone through for the last 22 hours were, in effect, a waste.... except maybe to prep you mentally for what's to come. So, maybe go back to smoking, and quit more effectively... Otherwise, simply stop being a puss, and just don't smoke. It's all in your head, the physical withdrawal's done with after 72 hours... after that, it's nearly all psychological... which still can be rough... but, generally, easier. When you haven't smoked for as many months as years that you did smoke, you've genuinely achieved something. Until then, it's a day-by-day thing. :2 cents: |
