Adding a watermark to a wmv file?

OK, so this guys got some wmv clips he's intending to sell online.
I've been asked to set up the site and sort out the billing etc....
All well and good, but hes now asked me to add a url overlay to the bottom of the wmv clips...

I used to do this with studio 7 a few years ago, but no longer have that program... I dont really want to have to buy a program (if possible)

I tried with win movie maker, but it seemed to want to ad the overlay in the middle of the screen as opposed to the bottom corner...

So can someone please recommend a simple program that I can run the wmvs thru, add the water mark, and have it come out the same size, rez and bitrate as it went in, but WITH a watermark?

Thanks :)

Same here. It's great for a lot of things, watermarking being just one of them.

Thanks, but Im really after something really simple....

Something that just adds the watermark? It doesnt need to do anything other than that...

I'm just trying to help the guy out with adding the watermark... Nothing else is needed...

I use Sony Vegas which is over kill for that, but they might have a free trial or something.

If you use that let me know and I can walk you though it.

Jim_Gunn 03-20-2008 04:40 PM

VideoCharge is a very reasonably priced app for what it does, or as you discovered their companion app.

lazycash 03-20-2008 10:05 PM

He's selling watermarked videos?

Go for VideoCharge

NKYKev 03-23-2008 11:33 AM

Try LiveAlpha from Consolidated Video - does batch encoding watermarking and works with live streams as well.

Videochage will fall under that price range and really is a great piece of software. they do have a free trial, and i think it`s limited on days and not % of the file you process.
But i may be wrong on that last one..

Easy. Make a tile, and process in premiere.

Doesn't always make sense to do that if a) the webmaster is starting with already compressed clips of some kind or b) is watermarking a large number of clips in a batch process which Premiere Pro cannot door c) one wants to keep the very highest quality on the watermarks- such as detailed graphical ones- and one doesn't want to resize the source clip with the watermark already on it in the encoding process. Better to add it at the exact size for each final output if you have multiple frame size outputs
