I can receive texts from other networks just fine, but no images or videos (MMS isn't supported on the iphone yet)

Xrated J 03-20-2008 09:45 AM

same here
for $500, the least they could do was allow me to send pics of my penis via text message to others...for now I have to do it as an email attachment...not quite the same thing ;-)

That being said, I'm still digging the iphone even though I've only had it for a couple days now

I have never had that issue. Did you do a hard reboot yet? By pressing the circular key the top button simultaneously for around 5 seconds? You will feel a pop.

I had a weird voicemail issue for about 3 days, but that was related to Cingular users (apparently).

I don't know how much you use Apple products, however, just take it back if the reboot doesn't work. They will swap you out. Apple is great like that.

I get SMS messages to mine from our network monitoring system just fine.

One thing that irritates the hell out of me is not being able to "delete all" text messages or emails. As much as I'm a Mac fan, that's just a dumb omission.

MaxCandy 03-20-2008 10:06 AM

mine is unblocked works great

Karupted Charles 03-20-2008 10:10 AM

I had that issue the first day then it cleared up. It was related to me switching off verizon.

Hell House Vic 03-20-2008 10:14 AM

yeah, that's abnormal. you should be able to receive text from everyone.

pics, from no one

that blows

BUT HOLD TIGHT TILL JUNE
everything will change in june. developers have the iphone SDK now and are building apps for iPhone. In june Apple will release the firmware update for the phone so those apps will run on it. THEN you will have some quality shit in a pretty, slim, black and silver package.

I hope you are right, I just switched off tmobile yesterday, so maybe things are still being routed wrong or something. I feel like a redheaded stepchild right now, nobody responds and nobody sends me messages haha.

Just a word of advice, hard-reboot whenever you think about it. I try to do it once a night. The phone will run a lot better for it.

Also, make sure you keep your text messages under control. Meaning, you probably will end up texting a lot of different people, just make sure you go in every now and again and clear those messages out. You can clear and still leave the actual person's window, but when they build up, I have noticed that the entire text area tends to drag.

Enjoy it though, the phone is amazing. The visual voicemail is the absolute best thing to come along in 20 years for me.
