this mornin at 11am the snow surprised everyone, over 100 miles highway Brno Prague is shutdown one big mess

For those who dunno this is the biggest highway in CZ, over 20.000 (!) ppl are stuck there now

wow. 2 miles of the most trafficked highway in Philadelphia has been shut down for the past two days and it's such a disaster. this must be horrible.

I can't imagine what a 100 mile closure would be like.

not cool to be stuck there.. just drove for 6 hours on icy roads up in norway and it's a challenge from time to time.. (espesically with a one year old listening to his cd's in the backseat)

but heck, where is the snow? Hard to picture any snow at all on those pics

Traffic on D1 motorway collapses

Traffic on a major Czech motorway connecting Prague and Brno collapsed on Thursday due to a massive pile-up caused by snowing. Lanes in both directions on the D1 motorway between the capital and the country?s second largest city, Brno, were blocked by roughly 100 crashed vehicles. Six people suffered serious injuries in the accident, while another 26 had to receive medical treatment. Convoys of vehicles in both directions are about 40 km long with hundreds of trapped people while trucks have been completely diverted from the motorway. Interior Minister Ivan Langer told Czech TV that he was considering calling in the army to help.

On the other hand, with the mere amount of super morons speeding there way above the limit and way above their mental and driving abilities, it's not such a surprise to me.

I-95 from Allegheny to Girard, pretty much the most congested strip during rush hour. It was closed from Monday at midnight up until this morning.
