McCain is having a hard enough time convincing republicans he conservative enough he's not putting a liberal jew on the ticket. Not to mention Lieberman has already say "No. Been there, done that"

He'd be an interesting candidate, although I think he'd also consider Romney. The economy is going to be a big issue in November and he needs someone on his ticket who knows something about economics. Either Lieberman or Romney would pass that test.
