Dollar is falling - adult facing problems?

Looks like that the huge dollar fall will impact the entire business. Our business is affected as the low dollar is making it hard to sell content. Anyone having same problems recently?

The only ones with real problems, if the dollar stays that low for longer, are european content producers.

AdultLicenses.com 03-17-2008 11:22 AM

Yeah and the rest of the world selling to USA. If the dollar falls below 1.9€ there will be a huge change in the society. Hopefully someone will purchase content before that ;)

woj 03-17-2008 11:45 AM

It's only a problem for non-US people, everyone in the US that does biz with people outside of the US is actually doing great now..

D Ghost 03-17-2008 11:48 AM

well considering it costs 1.7 cents to make a penny

you'll have to drop your prices - it's not as if you as a DVD content licensor have to pay models and production costs - the studios you license for shot the movies for DVD sales/rentals and licensing them for the Internet is just an extra revenue stream.

I dont set the prices, the producers do, and they pay the models and all that. Secondly Internet is no longer "extra revenue" as it was 2 years ago, its main revenue for more and more of the old DVD companies, well at least they want that.

The monster is not the price, it has been unchanged for the past 2 years and sold well. The problem right now is the ass dollar, it simply not worth anything anymore, and its purchase power has diminished.

i take my guitar and sing Beatles songs every friday on the metro to make up for the dollar

BOSS1 03-17-2008 05:36 PM

Actually, in the near future it will become a problem for Americans working in adult as well.

If the dollar keeps falling, serious inflation is inevitable. A lower real income for most of the population will almost certainly affect the demand for non-essential purchases like pornography. Especially in this day and age, where paid porn is basically the "luxury version" of free porn.

The only people in adult who will profit substantially are Americans selling mainly to non-Americans, and American content producers.

The decrease in value of the dollar is inconvenient, but it's not stopping me.
