HELP: I got the #1 spot but...
...i just gave prime placement to a sponsor that hasn't converted for me. I figured I'd give them one more good test so I put up their link not too long ago. Then I check the SERP and I'm #1.
I'm scared if I make a change the SE will drop me outta there. But I'm uneasy about sending them all that juicy traffic lol What would you do? |
I would give it a couple days and see if being #1 doesnt change the conversions, if it dont make money, the spot isnt worth worrying about.
Theres also a good chance the number 1 will only last a couple days, so can't really hurt to ride it out and see. Your site is first or the ref code is? |

unless you're No1 for 10 days+ you don't know if you're going to stay there or not, I had sites going to No1 for 2 days then dissapear
also changing only one link won't hurt yuor Google listing |
what time period were you sitting at prior and where we you at prior grabbing the slot?
|
You can't change keywords but or titles or anything but the fluff textual content... But you can send them to another sponsor via pics....
|
no point in having a #1 SPOT if it doesnt make a dime!

edit: oh and the sponsor just converted so that eases my fears (a bit) |

being #1 doesn't mean you'll convert more than what you can by being #2 though it does help...anyway you can't be sure about how SEs work...and while you're being number 1 your competitor are also doing what they can to change your position...so better observe it and check how much does that change will affect...
