Why would you pay to use a 3rd party dns service? you are just adding another link into the chain, if they have any issue your sites are down. Why not simply let your host do it for free?:2 cents:

I'd trust some third party providers over my host ;)
everydns.net has boxes all over the globe on independant networks, uses 4 ns servers, your shit is never going down..

whereas when your host's DC loses power ;)

Mate if your hostas data center goes down your sites are down no matter where the hell your dns is being served from unless ofcourse you have redundant servers also in multiple locations....

If you have enough money you should buy three servers,one in usa,one in europe,and one in asia and use them only for dns nothing else.

Absolutely valid point, but you know what I mean :)
I beleive I meant to post registrar :)

But that said, if your host does take extended downtime, if you control the DNS, it's easier to flick in a new IP :)

I have servers in multiple data centers. So if my servers go down, then we would be talking about some MAJOR backbone issues.
