Affiliates: quick survey
 

Hi,
Thinking of rolling out an affiliate program. Would you, as an affiliate, be interested in promoting the sites considering the following:

1. all content is leased, not original (pics are licensed)
2. 7-8 yr old, established sites; niche gay sites
3. conversion ratio of 1:57 (targeted traffic is a must)
4. "first renewal" conversion of 56%; avg. retention of 3.5 - 4 months
5. a very closed affiliate program (1-3 affiliates)
6. NATS
7. Payments processing via Netbilling

I am hesitating because the content is all leased of licensed. It would be just myself, the webmaster, as the contact point for the affiliates (or "rep").

Good idea? Bad idea? Tell me what you guys think.

I would call them partners not affiliates

affiliates are "surfers who download all your content and then don't send you traffic" ... right? :)

Why would you ask a huge board about what they want if you were only planning to accept a few affiliates? If you want to keep it small, find some relevant webmasters and approach them directly.

I think if your hesitating and unsure this is not the place to ask,this is a tough experienced crowd,I would try a smaller board,I doubt you will have much success,look elsewhere build confidence then come back all guns blazing :thumbsup

Well, I wanted some feedback because I it would be a substantial investment of time and money. Yes, this crowd is tough and experienced, but I thought what better group to get ideas from.
