This wonderful thread about censorship, beast sites, and various other topics got me thinking...

From what I understand, beast sites are not federally illegal, only in select states. Why in the hell are so many people so anal about having them all shut down? Do we have our very own GFY PETA Clan around here? I would assume AM Jeff is the Grand Wizard. So when can I expect my lynching?

And I think one should draw the distinction between a website and performing the act.

In those states where it is said bestiality is illegal, they are referring to the actual act of stuffing your cock into an animal.

I am not very certain where images would get you in trouble other than good old fashioned obscenity charges. And anyone in porn faces those kinds of charges.

Looking at pictures of someone fucking a 12 year old is a different crime than actually fucking a 12 year old.

Beast websites are just as legal as any hardcore porn site. The only difference I see is it would be far easier to prove them obscene in a court of law.

Personally, I won't promote beasty shit. I lump it in with CP, in that the participants lack the ability to make a mature informed decision to participate. I don't agree with those that say the animals are happy to get sex so that makes it okay. Plainly, it's unnatural, it's sick and it's wrong.

But that's where the similarity to CP ends. I don't feel that I need to be trying to shut down beasty sites like I do the child porn sites. If anyone wants to criticize me, feel free, but this is the way it is for me. I can look the other way with the beasty sites and just not visit them. My mandate against CP remains as is -- 100% zero tolerance.

I simply won't be a party to promoting bestiality. Neither will I knowingly promote any fantasy rape either, even though it too is legal. I just don't agree with the concept behind these forms of *entertainment*.

But actually beasty sites are bad news.

I have not actually researched the laws in each state, but many if not most, if not all, AVS systems will not allow beastiality. I assume because it is against the law in the US.

I actually do not know of a specific law banning a beastiality "web site", federal or state, and I am not going to do any research on the matter. You may be correct that a specific law concerning a beastiality "web site", other than a general obscenity law, does not exist, though I suspect that it does. And no, I would not be surprised, for I quit being surprised by what anyone in this business does, a long time ago. At least I think I can't be surprised, I am not 100% positive about this. :)

I think anyone showing more than playboy style could be prosecuted for obsenity.

It's funny Ric and I were just talking about this last night. We were debating the distinction between a man having sex with an animal and a woman having sex with animals. I actually saw one video with two women on a sunny mountain side with a donkey and they all seemed like they were having a great time. It was better than a lot of the fake porn we see. Then on the other side of this issue are the poor animals getting force fucked up the ass.

So with bestiality, as with anyone (animal or human) they should be able to chose to participate.

On related note my biggest problem is with the idea of "obscenity" the word is so ambiguous, one person's obscenity is another person's turn on. I wouldn't want anyone making that judgement for me. The bottom line is whatever consenting adults want to do with each other is fine.
