So I have been brewing my own beer

And I might be getting carried away.

I just got in the beginnings of what will soon be a hop farm!

If you need cascades, let me know in september :)

the real fun will be when you graft the hops on to a marijuana root! you can smoke it or make killer beer.

yeah, I'm also thinking of starting either moonshining or minting coins. When caught I'll say: "officer, it's all these fucking tube sites...."

Shok 03-12-2008 07:40 AM

minting coins...awesome

I have a badass printer and could make millions in 5's and 10's all day

Please keep us posted on how it turns out. I have tried around 5 different home brews and except for my uncles they all tasted like piss. Being the beer guy I am, I would love to be able to get high off my own supply :)

thats weird, because it's really easy to make great shit.

maybe you just arnt letting it age enough. you need at least six weeks to get the "green" taste out

yeah 2 of the ones I tried from my x-girlfriends dad were fucking gross. I dont know if he was trying to get exotic or what but he was crossing flavors with the beers, one was a licorice and I cant remember what the other was.

Shok 03-12-2008 08:01 AM

fuck that

I stick to Amber Ales, Hefeweizens and I plan to lager this summer when I get a kegerator

You need a manicure.

You should take a spa day.

What kind of set-up do you have? Would you recommend for a rookie brewer? I have been thinking about brewing my own beer for a couple of years now. The only reason I havn't is because it seems intimidating.

It's very simple.
Start with an extract brew. This gets your feet wet with the process.
Find a local homebrew supply and go look around.
I would suggest an Ale extract.
The extract will come with the yeast.

Basically you need a couple of 6 gallon buckets to get going.

Your going to boil 2 gallons of water, add cane sugar, about 5 cups then add your extract. Put it in the bucket after a good boil and add water to bring the temp down to 70 degrees.
Add the yeast and close it up for the next few weeks.

With the prices of hops these days, I'll happily take any cascades that you'll throw my way.

GAMEFINEST 03-12-2008 09:16 AM

Im too lazy for that...

Sweet keep up with the progress and pictures.
Also should take some pictures of your setup.

Lastly some of you all should swap or ship around some of your homebrews to other members and brewers here.

I love that you have one of the girls in that picture - teaching early, eh? ;)
