are Rollerblades for girls ?
i'm think either skate board or rollerblades
i kinda tend towards rollerblades cause i think it would be easier for me to learn but aren't rollerblades for girls only ? |
does anybody here rollerblade ?
|
Growing up we had 2 skate parks within 20 minutes of my house, FDR and Cheap Skates. I always skated but had some boys that rollerbladed. I told them rollerblading looked to easy. We switched for a day and lets just say I tore it up on the blades and my buddy was on his ass the whole time on my board. So if you want a challenge skate....if not blade. :2 cents:

Rollers can be for anybody. No matter their sex.
We bought our daughter her firsts rollers last year. We go to the park and have a great time. I used to do snakeboard. It's easy for me because I can stop when and where I want, and it's a great excercise. I find it a bit difficult to stop dead with rollerblades. It's easy with ice skates. |
why do you think it's for girls only ? |
Not necessarily. But if you're a guy, for godssake, don't wear bike shorts with them.

yup! I rollerblade and speedskate! I hate driving to work, so If I am not riding the bike, or walking, I am skating.
It (skating) is the perfect compliment sport/activity for skiing. It tones, shaves off any access (fat), builds wicked muscles and balance. For those pylons that say it is a girl-only activity, or call them fruitboots: what do you think hockey players do in the summer? Guys ice skate so why should roller blading be any different! |
Just don't wear really tight spandex and you should be fine...

Rollerblading can be for either sex. Personally, I would try skateboarding..

fruit boots!

If you want to get in serious shape, do some inline speed skating.
I do skateboard myself, but mostly in skateparks. Marathon style rollerblade(with an IPOD :) ) is my exercise of choice for cardio/endurance workout. It's about 100 times more fun than jogging. A lot say that inline speed skating is more technical than cyclism. Here's the 2 BONT models I'm considering buying because I'm currently riding some street/ramp rollerblades with 50mm wheels which is really ineffective(They are the 2 newbie/intermediate models) Alpha 90mm 250$ (Recreational) http://www.baysideblades.com.au/inli...nt/bont_a5.jpg Semi-Race 100mm 400$ http://www.g-skate.com/images/boots/BONTsemi-race2.jpg Check out http://www.bont.com for more infos. |
More pics please :)

Who gives a fuck what anyone thinks? If you want to rollerblade get yourself some blades and carve that shit up!
|
I lived in Minnesota and everyone rollerbladed. I think they are for both.
|
The only people I know that rollerblade are women and homosexuals. Get a skateboard, it doesn't take long to get the hang of it :)

No.. it's for all sexes. Ever heard of roller hockey?
|
If you want a good work out and speed that will take you somewhere go for the rollerblades... If you want to hang outside of the 7-11 with highschool kids and practice going off the curb 100 times over and over again go with the skateboard.
No offense to anyone that is into skateboarding, but you generally don't see adults on skateboards (here anyways), and rollerblading is a much better workout. |

I don't see how you can compare skateboarding with rollerblading, two completely different sports.
When I lived in Vancouver, I used to rollerblade about 10km a day... High speed, good cardio, lots of fun. Growing up placing ice hockey it seemed like a good summer sport to pick up. I've only heard the "for girls" thing like once before, and I really don't get where this comes from... |
