how do you get those links under your google listing?
you know the ones that are like a site directory? for example http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&r...D%3Aen&q=apple

actually, forget it.... I see it only applies to #1 listings.:upsidedow

It is just google has decided to show some noteworthy pages within the site. I do not think there is anything you can do to make it happen other than hope google does it for you. It is not just because they are the #1 listing. I have a few of my sites like that like this one is http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c...st&btnG=Search

its for sites that rank #1 and also have a goog friendly sitemap. or so has my experience been with it anyhow, i tested it out.

They are called google sitelinks. You can remove certain pages of your site from showing in them, but not add them. Google, if your site is layed out well, will naturally develope them for busy sections of your website.
This has nothing to do with sitemaps (i have 2 sites with sitelinks in google and only 1 has a sitemap) From google themselves, on the sitelinks page inside a logged in google webmaster tools Quote:

It has to do with traffic volume (steady, not high). A strong/steady rank for a popular keyword/phrase or domain name phrase. And as Jdoughs pointed out, an easy to navigate/spider website. Domain age appears to play a role, but the domain doesn't have to be super old.
I have found that a proper menu structure (site flow/spider flow), backed with steady keyword positions, plays a major role in getting site links. |
