Am I the only one who thinks Moniker sucks?
Ok so I signed up with moniker and put $100 on account thru paypal.
#1 The system immediately locked me out for fraud. I then tried to contact them and was ignored so I filed a paypal dispute. After I posted on GFY someone came and eventualy sorted it out after about 2 weeks. #2 So in late 2007 I put in two names for a live auction with them in january. A few days before the auction they told me one name was not going into the auction. So that was two months wasted not trying to sell this name and turning down offers on it, great. #3 So the other day I went to use my $100 credit to buy some privacy domains. I have my own nominet tag so I can register .co.uk domains at cost but I wanted this domain private. So I registerred the name thru them with the privacy option, it went thru fine. A few minutes later I whois the domain and its registerred in my Personal name at my home address! So I contact support I know full well you can delete a name via nominet but they refuse to help me. I mean really I have had nothing but bad experiences with this company what a bunch of shit bastards, fuck you Moniker |
had very bad experiences with Moniker too, so you are NOT the only one I am afraid

I have never used Moniker. Sedo is the only one that has done well for me with selling domains.

Ive never had any issue in contacting Moniker, or getting issues resolved. Can't imagine I'm just lucky. They have been 100% perfect for me. The few issues I have had in the past were taken care of quickly, and both turned out to be an error more or less my fault on top of it. :thumbsup

I emailed one of their sales reps over a week and a half ago and have yet to hear back from them. I guess they aren't interested in my money. //g

Never had any problems with Moniker!

Bari and Chris at Moniker always go above and beyond to help out the clients I send over to them. :thumbsup

I use moniker, never had any problems
|
Never used them for domains, but the way they run their auctions is pretty bizarre to my mind --- submitted a few for the January auction --- they took one and didn't take the others, but I never was notified in any way about anything, including the fact that I had a domain in the auction.
Above that, they claim their four-month exclusivity holds for domains they *don't even choose* for their auctions...they're not trying to sell the domains, but they claim you're not allowed to sell them on your own without paying them a commission? There's no way that would hold up in court, but it's hard to believe they'd even try to lock down the rights to a domain they have no intention of auctioning off.... |
what is the next auction they are running?
|
yeah, their auctions are a total joke.
service is great though... really great! |
The Price has been right:) When a problem they address it usually by ICQ or at last resort by phone. Have bought in person at a moniker auction with zero problems. Have never bought online in auction so thats the only thing I can't comment on.
|
Too bad they only contact you when you make a thread on gfy about their shitty service
|
they charged my card twice today, what the fuck

I've never had any problems with Moniker.. only issues I've ever had was a few times their site was very slow. However that's not a biggie.
|
I had some issues with moniker too,but they been resolved so i am now content customer(that mean neither happy neither mad,for being happy they would need to reduce prices :D)
|
Nothing but positives from moniker, and we have thousands of domains with them.
|
You're not the only one - there are better registrar choices.
Before someone chimes in about Moniker security/reliability - it leaves a lot to be desired ... for folks with 1000s of domains, the best option, especially in situations in which one has security concerns (ie. has many quality domains and/or controversal content) is to become an accredited ICANN registrar themselves. used them for years with years with hundreds of domains and never had an issue.
Any questions were a phone call away. |
