:1orglaugh

just kiddin'!!!

This thing is AWESOME!!!

bought the separate dvd drive, nice and slim, fits right into the side pocket of the carrying case and a usb 4-slot hub.

LOVE IT!!!

J B 03-09-2008 08:41 PM

When I read the title I was like WTF :1orglaugh

Got mine 10 days ago and love it as well :)

Zprogramz 03-09-2008 08:48 PM

The thing I read which is keeping me away from one is that I would only use it for travel and you cannot change the battery so it would not work well for long flights, right?

Xrated J 03-09-2008 08:50 PM

i was thinking about getting one

You can get an airline adapter and hope that there's a plug for it in the plane you use :)

x2 lets get some action shots or something we can drool over.

minddust 03-09-2008 09:42 PM

I won't.

Too expensive for only bragging rights/being part of a the "world thinnest laptop omg omg omg" hype.:2 cents:

Overpriced unless you pay $3.2K for it. (the SSD drive)

I could get a laptop that beat their "entry" level one easily, for less than their thin price of $1900.

IBM T61p; 14" SXGA, 2GB, 802.11n, 100GB 7200rpm HD, Horribly fat, at less than an inch and a shocking 5 pounds:upsidedow ~ $1200

Kevin Marx 03-09-2008 09:51 PM

I would be afraid of sitting on the damn thing or breaking it somehow....being so thin while cool, makes it look like a toy

quantum-x 03-09-2008 10:05 PM

sony viao TZ series. Cheaper. Lighter [?]. Faster.

not cheaper, I had one, it took a shit, so I looked at the new ones before going with this. A decent one is in the upper 2k-3k range. The Mac was only $1800

must have been the tax rebate :|

1.8k is very reasonable.

bDok 03-09-2008 10:16 PM

looked at them the other day. I'll be getting one in the future for sure.

no reason to not be able to have the best of mac world/windows world/*nix flavor.

Why not be able to do it all?

Spunky 03-09-2008 10:23 PM

What's next? mandingo cock?

VeriSexy 03-09-2008 11:02 PM

I need to get me one of them

Sam Granger 03-09-2008 11:12 PM

How well does the basic version run Photoshop/Illustrator CS3?

EuroRev_Stacey 03-09-2008 11:25 PM

being lightweight makes me always feel that i'm gonna break it

helic0pter 03-09-2008 11:44 PM

I like my laptops big, robust and beastly. Screw light weight and thinness. It's too expensive for such a pussy looking laptop.

Tanker 03-09-2008 11:50 PM

very nice I need a new laptop have been thinking about going mac for a while

F-U-Jimmy 03-09-2008 11:51 PM

Ill wait until they bring the new Mac laptop out, i hear its the size of a credit card and slips right into your wallet !!!!:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Greg MissionD 03-10-2008 01:00 AM

jollyperv 03-10-2008 01:04 AM

Gotta say, not a big fan of macs but checked out one of these that a friend just bought...one of the coolest fucking things I've seen in awhile.

I can't wait for SSD prices to come down to earth (and reality). Those are amazing.

flashfire 03-10-2008 02:35 AM

I dont really buy the hype sorry

Global Accés Delgado 03-10-2008 03:33 AM

If I hadn't just bought a regular macbook a few months ago ;( That things is really sweet. I love how it can mount to a DVD drive on a different computer.

BOSS1 03-10-2008 04:42 AM

thinking about picking one up

Juicy D. Links 03-10-2008 04:45 AM

the SSD is more stable, however, you never know how much until they've been tried and tested by the public for awhile, they area also supposed to be faster, but I tested them side by side with the regular Air HD, and it was barely faster. Not worth the $1300 price increase imho.

Sosa 03-10-2008 08:29 AM

I would probably break it lol.

Clark 03-10-2008 10:19 AM

I've had mine for a month.
SSD is awesome, dead quiet, quick.
battery life is good, better than my sony viao
..and i've become a complete mac junky now..all of my pc friend want to punch me in the face since i wont stop telling them how much windows blows

C-Bass 03-10-2008 10:23 AM

why would you want a thin laptop anyways? everoyone could use shedding a few extra calories when carrying a brick around

D 03-10-2008 10:24 AM

The things look and feel great.

If I could justify $1800 on a new laptop plus the cost of the dvd rom, I'd buy one myself.

How in the hell can you even stay awake on long flights? A lot of the time, I'm groggy before we even take off.

nation-x 03-10-2008 12:00 PM

macs are overpriced crap

CheeseFrog 03-10-2008 12:12 PM

$1800 for a clunky T5000 series processor, no CD/DVD, and an iPod hard drive? Bleh. Now if they would have stuffed it with a T7000/9000 series processor, a real hard drive, and a slot-load optical, it might be worth it. I'd rather have a Sidekick or Blackberry instead... it's even smaller, plus they have a built in phone.
