Whats the fastest video rendering software?

I've been using Vegas. Tried using Watermark Master, it's a lot faster but way too buggy to be useful.

I realize now that Vegas is probably one of the slowest. Someone help me out.

You would probably be happier with one of the encoders. Procoder or squeeze or cleaner. Also what kind of computing power were you using?

              I got a quad core.

Vegas isn't THAT slow, its just that I found watermark master was a ton faster, which leads me to believe Vegas does a ton of redundant shit. Was wondering if I could find one that didn't do redundant garbage.

I have been using Ulead VideoStudio for ages and currently got the latest version which is 11.

Ulead VideoStudio also supports HD editing if you are intrested in that. I can high recommend Ulead VideoStudio!

I'm doing the bulk of my encoding on After Effects on a quadcore now... If you keep your plugins light, and prerender things like overlays, and title/transitions... It's pretty damn fast. Using proper output modules and workflows you can speed yourself up quite a bit on multi formats as well...

When taking into account I'm also using offboard processed mpeg encoders which also help quite a bit, my overall render times for instance on 1.5k/1k/512 WMV, FLV, MPG, MOV as well as ipod and psp formatted mp4 will run about 3-4 hours per 30 mins raw footage.

depends on what your doing, if its simple edits or just watermarking you can find software that will batch n run faster than some of the heavier applications

For the full featured video encoding apps on a pc, you should download the trials of Cleaner XL, Sorenson Squeeze and Canopus Procoder and see which one works best for you. There are some simpler apps that have more limited encoding options. One example, even the full featured new version of Sorenson Squeeze cannot add text or graphical watermarks to video during the encoding process, unlike say Cleaner XL, which can. On the other hand Cleaner XL encodes much more slowly.
