When to drop sponsor?

So far it's 0:1000 atm... Blog traffic, panties niche... Drop or wait?

Axel XXX 03-07-2008 03:01 PM

wait

1000 hits is nothing

1,000 hits isn't that many. Kind of depends on if you have a real blog with original content (and enough of it) or something just using RSS feeds.

That isn't a lot of clicks to judge. If this were 2001 I would say DROP, but it is 2008 and 1:1000 then is more like 1:3000 raw these days. :(

Personally at about 1:1500 - 1:2000 I usually stop putting up new links until (if) the ratio improves.

Around 1:5,000 - 1:10,000 I will actually remove links depending on how much of a pain that would be. :2 cents:

What you probably should be doing is looking at how your traffic converts with other sponsors and come up with a number for yourself based upon that.

Yeah, it is difficult to find an adult program that converts that well, but they are out there if you are doing a quality blog and not a splog.

I've got a brand new paysite--my first--opened less than a week ago...still under 5K visits according to Google Analytics...17 sales and counting.

Come and get it! :)

Thats not a bad ratio at all these days even with SE traffic it seems. I got a few that are closing in on 0/5000-10000 but I dont have time to take links down. I have had some programs that started horribly and are now my highest payouts.

I would kill myself if I thought that was a good ratio.

Wait for more to have an idea ...

It's your traffic. Move on when you're ready.

That said, 1000 hits isn't typically enough to take into account any anomalies. the greater your sampling pool, the more statistically accurate your ratios are going to be.

I've had affiliates hit me up after 1000, and even 2000 hits - wondering what's been the deal... only to have me say "wait for 10k before you judge anything."

10k still isn't perfect, but it's a heck of a lot better than 1k.

Many of those same affiliates' concerns were quieted just a few thousand hits after first hitting me up. Bad days happen. And one good day can make up for several bad.

1000 clicks to one site are all together for that sponsor???
