Would you VOTE for...........??? (politics.. not hit it)

A flat tax rate on earnings if it meant that every single other tax know to god and man was abolished? (no sales tax, no estate tax, no gas tax, no anything tax except on what you earn)

Of course a few things would have to go side by side with such a proposal, but in my mind it's a good thing.

Comments, critiques, sig spots????

im with this idea

I'd rather see a high tax on things we buy and can't buy anywhere else ( like a haircut) and a lower income tax, to make sure that work stays cheap.

But that just brings confusion into the whole thing again... tax this differently than you tax that...

Why should a dollar that I earn be different than a dollar that you earn... regardless of our tax brackets...

At that point.. fuck the IRS.. there is no need to review income tax returns, no need to worry about deductions... just, how much did you earn and was it paid?

The IRS strictly reviews compliance with the statute and nothing else. We wouldn't even have tax filings... if you had a job, it would be mandatory compliance. Your expectation as a citizen for usage of your city, state and country.

I would actually prefer to see a national sales tax which I think is more equal and fair to everyone.

Those with the most discretionary income would contribute in direct proportion with what they earn.

Then the only problem would be to set the % and determine how best to allocate the tax money collected. That's where it will all fall apart... when you get the government involved :Oh crap

I like that a flat tax everyone pays no loop poles. Sales tax can be gotten around and no one hides with a flat tax.

I love the idea. Unfortunatly that will never happen. Too many hands in the cookie jar. This is much the same reason alot of dumb neo cons make sure guys like Ron Paul are made to look like loons to the masses.

Pretty much the same thing I am thinking except it's regionally biased.... A box of XYZ costs you more here than it does there.. so therefore you get taxed unequally..

Income is only subjective based on your agreement with your employer as to how much you will earn. After that, a dollar is a dollar.

I also favor companies being taxed in the same manner. Earn a dollar, pay taxes.. none of this bullshit where a company gets treated differently than an individual. Everyone/everything contributes to the system equally. If you think about how much companies don't pay based on their exemptions and deductions, you realize they are being subsidized by taxpayers.

If everyone/everything contributed based on their earnings, I would think a flat tax would be much lower than expected...

It would certainly be easier for the government to budget..... "Hey!!! How much money did we get in taxes last year???? OK... for budget, we won't spend any more than that!!!"

This makes me want to vote for a one term president and the same for senators/congressmen..... a group of people that don't care about the politics.... rather people that want to go in, make things make sense, then let another group of like minded individuals come in after them and do the same, only a little better.

Career politicians are the bane of the country.
