sponsors quit paying for TGP traffic????

This was posted by Shawn on another board

""""maintaining a 1% or less chargeback ratio is going to be a real challenge. How are they going to be able to manage it? Probably by tracking affiliate traffic and chargebacks .........
One positive I can see in all this is the *possible* demise of the tgp's. Back when I used to play with that traffic I had a specific affiliate code to track signups to my own sites and the chargeback rates were obscene - even on the lousy $4.95 trials! I'm sure every other program experiences the same thing with tgp traffic so if it comes to a point where it's affecting their chargeback ratio, they may just decide they don't want that kind of traffic. Hence...sponsors won't allow tgp traffic...so who would want to post their free stuff? """"

This got me to thinking .. With the current visa climate rolled up with ever increasing problems in chargebacks etc,
Would the sponsors amongst us be willing to at least DISCUSS the possibity of NOT paying webmasters for traffic from regular TGP's??

I recall reading a post by one large sponsor that said he wished that visa had implemented HIGHER charges that would lead to a bigger 'weeding out' of the industry. Wouldn't something like this do the same thing??

I'm curious to hear feedback on this one

It would be great, but for every sponsor who dropped out and stopped accepting TGP traffic you would have 10 more small ones that would, and in turn they would become larger sponsors :(

There is one flaw in your process there swift. Since the CB ratio would still be high, the new sponsors would get blacklisted and loose processing ability.

I too have seen a higher CB/refund with the TGP crowd, they seem to be a bit more savvy, and aren't afraid to call up the Visa/MC operator and ask for a refund on a porn site :(

I doubt that sponsors will stop using TGP traffic, but they will have to come up with some solution that will keep the ratio's within an acceptable level.

why would TGP chargebacks be worse than ANY OTHER form of traffic? Esp selling things other than pics like big penis stuff, sex toys, dating services, cam girls, etc.
That doesn't make sense. Ratios for sales might be worse but chargebacks on a GOOD paysite shouldn't make any differance. A sale is a sale.

SexHit and InterGal have stopped knowingly paying for TGP traffic and I see others starting to follow...

I think we'll start seeing more sponsors going away from instant signups and delaying the time a webmaster submits an app to be an affiliate and the time they can actually start sending...no more auto-signup and send......

if more billers would adopt the globill "chargeback and we'll send a print out of the pictures from grannyfuckersrus.com you were logged accessing to visa etc" they might get less "savvy" :)

TGP's get stronger everytime someone starts a thread like this.

They feed on your fear.

Sleazy will be here soon to kick your asses.

Get ready.

Yeah TGP traffic is complete shit, thats why sponsors build pre-made galleries for webmasters to use and foot the bandwidth bill. They are all soooo stupid I guess.

Who is Shawn?
Sounds like someone isn't seeing any sales on their AVS, and the TGP's are being blamed.

Erm, thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Just don't let tgp webmasters promote their galleries while lying about your site, thats about it...

TGP surfers are USED to free porn, maybe the recurrings wont be as good, but it won't be a huge issue with chargebacks.

the way i see it is that it's not the tgp's fault nobody signs up..... If you have shit for content and the surfer knows he can get better for free, why would he stay? So all these site owners bitching about tgp's should look at their own site and see what they could do to improve them so trials turn into recuring. It's like pepsi blaming an advertising company because their new pepsi blue tastes like shit

just my :2 cents: no need to flame me.

I promote a 50/50 sponsors on TGP galleries only and Im getting great rebills.

which webmaster program do you own again?
where does your knowledge come from? I just want to ensure the accuracy of your statement....... ;)

the exact reason many sponsors are doing pre-made galleries is so they can control the advertising message...that's why we're doing it...we can control the content and the message and even make sure there is nothing false on the advertising...makes it much easier to maintain everything and keep track....no more of the 20 pics and a small text link type newbie galleries...
