The engagement ring is for when you ask her to marry you, the wedding rings are exchanged during the ceremony.

Her engagement ring does not have a huge rock. 1 carat center that is tension mounted, smaller diamonds on each side, and then the diamond wedding band. It's elegant, classy, and it gets nice comments from the chicks with the 1 massive rock in the center...And cost a whole hell of a lot less. :thumbsup :1orglaugh

Some jewelers/artisans will actually sell you engagement ring/wedding bad sets at a discounted rate... so if you buy it all at once, you save a few bucks.
