Watching Final Fantasy now...WOW..virtual porn is coming!!

I'm watching this final fantasy for the first time. Man, this shit looks damn near real!! In a few years, I swear you won't be able to tell the difference.

It looks SO FUCKING REAL, that I would even watch a good porn movie if it had this technology..

I don't know how I'm going to get into virtual porn when it starts getting popular but I'm for damn sure gonna try!!

It's going to be quite a while before it's cheaper and faster to create computer images that look lifelike than to just turn on a camera and shoot some slut bending over.

Backov 10-08-2002 07:35 PM

Yep, but when it IS cheap enough, that'll be it, there'll be no going back.

Of course humans will still be needed to "base" the characters off of, even if it's just voice acting.

Cheers,
Backov

good 3d animators cost about as much as models per hour.. it's not going to happen in a big way for many many years.. seriously.. 2 x 3d animators, 1 x texture artist, actors if you want direct kinetic input + a frikkin' buttload of time

vs a guy and a camera + actors. + a little editing time

maybe in about 10 years programs will be sophisticated enough to allow only one or two people to work on it and have most of the kinematics pre-programmed and machines fast enough to render it.. but it will still probably be cheaper to film it. 3d porn is currently and will remain for a while, the realm of under-employed/after-the-day-job 3d artists where budgets don't matter and time is the only and freely available resource.
there will initially be novelty value and the first few might make some cash through some slave-labour 3d-artists-get-a-percentage-of-the-revenue deal but it won't last in a professional wages-up-front sense until it's cheaper than real porno..
You only have to look at current pornos to see the budget they run on.. did anyone see that porn version of the matrix? the computer special effects were as poor as hell (read take a day to do).. and this is on a professional shoot..

I don't think it will ever get to the point where theres "no going back" shooting a porno will always be cheaper because it's not relying on niched technical wages.. (and even if it did manage to take a hefty market share it would drive down human model's wages through lack of scarcity making "real" porno cheaper still) plus it won't capture the huge amateur market.

what amazed me was how detail it was,,

like they even designed each individual hair on their head and the way it flowed when the it blew on it..

even their faces were so much detailed

diggy 10-08-2002 10:27 PM

i heard each strand of hair was modelled one by one

diggy 10-08-2002 10:30 PM

this will sure make hairy girl and bear content expensive to produce :1orglaugh

This was a thread a while back -- some good posts if I remember too... ;) Maybe bring it back from the dead LOL.

Roald 10-08-2002 11:16 PM

It's about1 year old I guess, I remember watching it after a nice smoke and I thought they fooled me and used real actors for some parts :1orglaugh

Overturned by the US Supreme Court. Must be actual children. Banning simulated children, the Court reasoned, would end up criminalizing many artistic and mainstream works.

Apparently this problem was fixed by Pixar during its MONSTERS, INC. feature. They patented the technology used for rendering Sully's fur. Very realistic and uses a powerful algorithm.

Hmmm.... maybe production will shift overseas for simulated /CGenerated porn. Lower labor costs. Just a thought.

The guys who wrote the code for the final fantasy characters make a fortune. Its long hard work. I don't think its likely virtual porn will replace real porn any time soon.

You ask a girl to suck a guys dick and film it. Fast, now you try to program the same scene and it would take much much longer.

The best computer graphic school is in Ontario. I read something about the guys who made the computer characters for the TV show called 'Beast Wars'

Each programmer was making over 500K per year, and there were many on salary.

The graphics wasn't close to the quality of final fantasy detail either.

Nydahl 10-09-2002 07:29 AM

I have just wachted Final Fantasy and have to say it is great work I think.Tom Cruise should think about new job....
I've heard that about 200 poeple worked on it right?

BobbyR 10-09-2002 07:34 AM

I just don't know about virtual porn. There ain't nothing better than the real thing.

rdunn404 10-09-2002 09:54 AM

Yeah the animation and characters in that movie makes you second guess yourself alot and have to watch it closely to convince yourself it's not real. I heard it was a flop at the box office though. The script/storyline could have been better I thought. I think more movies (regular not porn) will be made this way and we'll look back on this one as the turning point.
