I am ok with killing animals, in any capacity, so yeah I would enjoy that tremendously.

In most, I'd say 99%, cases jackets/purses and stuff is made by the animals those were killed for food. Instead of just throwing off the skin, leather is made of it.

Most animals which are consumed are not torture by any means. The kill floor may not be a pretty place, but it is for the most part as humane as killing something is gonna get.

Even if any of us use or own products which stem from inhumane treatment of animals, that does not lump any of us into the same group as someone who tosses a god damn puppy off a cliff. Do you think that puppy died on impact? FUCK NO. It layed in pain, broken and bruised until it eventually died, and the soldier derived his joy DIRECTLY from the inhumane killing of the animal itself. Or are you too fucking blind to see that? There's a big difference from inflicting pain and injury upon a small defenseless animal for entertainment, than enjoying your leather couches or eating a fucking chicken burger.

On Splum's point, I remember watching "Faces of Death" as a kid. I wonder where the slaughterhouse video came from given the US slaughterhouse laws. Coulda been anywhere or illegal from US I guess. It was incredibly graphic from what i remember though it was a long time ago. Animals throats cut as they hung upside down on a wire.

Even in the US today chickens can be killed live. They don't have to be stunned like cows. I guess it brings up the question of whether the chicken anticipates its own death. To what degree does an animal experience consciousness? Happy Thanksgiving.

How about hunting? How about seal-clubbing? Canada allows something like hundreds of thousands of seals to be killed every year. How about shooting a deer with a bow and arrow and then walking up to it and cutting its throat so it bleeds to death?

How about keeping animals locked up in cages for people to stare at? Maybe not as bad. Is it?

No I wouldn't throw a puppy or a donkey off a bridge. What's the point? I've never hunted hunted. I don't even fish. I definitely wouldn't work in a slaughterhouse. I do know however that I must be supporting some cruelty when I eat chicken, beef, venison, ostrich, moose, bear, lamb and so on.

Animal cruelty brings up a lot of interesting ethical questions. How many of you swatted a mosquito last summer? Put some ant killer on your lawn? How many of you use anti-biotics to kill living bacteria? Can't we all just get along?

It seems that for the most part most people place greater value on the lives of animals based on cuteness. Puppy > guinea pig > chickens > lizard > snake > mosquito and so on. But maybe it is more of our perception of their perceptions. Which animals suffer like us? Mammals, being most like us, are the most important and should be treated the most "humanely". Lizards and snakes? Damned cold-bloods! Here nature was cruel to those animals that aren't very expressive.

Ever watch a snake kill a rabbit? That will turn your stomach. Is it cruel to feed a rabbit to a snake? Well, it is food right? It was damned difficult for me to watch. I know that.
