gideongallery 03-03-2008 07:38 PM

i would think a for profit group like pakgroup would spend the money to by pakgroup.com

Camco 03-03-2008 08:20 PM

Thanks for the link, it was very interesting to watch

RevSand 03-03-2008 08:22 PM

It was way better live.. Glad I was there for it.

gideongallery 03-03-2008 08:31 PM

ok all i have to say is aff need to hire a better spokeman for themselves

1. he did not point out the fair use right to distribute that exists and was being ignored( though i can see why since penthouse would also like to eliminate those rights to make more money)

2. his arguement regarding mashup being piracy is wrong, because of th fair use rights, and dj licienced rights that current exist as a result of joining the dj association.

SpeakEasy 03-03-2008 08:40 PM

The bottom line is that AFF are Truly SCUM and don't give 1 shit about the industry. They bare out to make a buck anyway they can and admit it time and time again.:321GFY

quentin boyer tried to argue that apple was not supporting napster when they started

and they were they were selling ipods, mp3 ripping software and a host of product that benefits and helped people rip the content in question to put up on napster

they feed the demand of the pirates and made money doing it.

btw for all the people that think this will be a huge cash cow
because the riaa as paved the way

you might want to know that right now the artist are threatening to sue because they are not getting a share of the settlement that are being won

so copying the RIAA model is not all it is cracked up to be.

Seriously??? the fair use argument again???? how you twist the use of the word FAIR is just beyond me.

I have only watched clip one so far and Picconilli (spelling??) hit it right on the head... regardless of what people think, these rules/the status quo won't go on forever... new laws/rules will be created for a situation that no one foresaw when the copyright laws were created. Things will be changing, it's guaranteed.

Yeah... I would be pissed if I was an artist and the lawsuits didn't get me any money either. Still isn't the worst of all worlds though... I can imagine there has been some sort of detrimental effect on users now that people are losing lawsuits and having huge judgements against themselves for distributing songs/content.

datatank 03-03-2008 10:31 PM

The videos load so slow. Can you add a download option please

ok re read it again this has nothing to do with fair use

this has to do with the fact that the RIAA is keeping the money they win from the cases and the artist who are supposedly being defended are not getting anything.

it has to do with the fact that thepakgroup.com a for profit company is modeling themselves after the RIAA which it looks like is a money pit where the money goes in and no money comes out.

which means either they did do an adequate level of research or they actually plan to do the same thing.

well actually it is a lot worse, not getting their share of the settlements mean they are still not getting paid for their work, AND they are losing the branding/ exposure of their music that they would be getting if people shared it freely.

If i were not going to get paid for my work, i would want as many people as possible to hear my music so maybe some of them would turn into fans who would buy tickets to see me live.

crockett 03-04-2008 12:44 AM

they're flash encoded - maybe try using a different browser or restarting your browser - i experienced a temp glitch with firefox but after i restarted my browser it worked fine.

d-null 03-04-2008 09:30 PM

great videos, excellent

comments on Brazzers, lots of "Fucking Bullshit" and "they are shit" comments, "I don't give a fuck about the 'Bro' bullshit", etc etc...

very good to watch

for best viewing, load up the video, press pause, wait a minute or two for it to load up, then press play, it should play through with no glitching
