this is fucking upsetting

Was reading this article and this statement really pissed me off.they are just fucking us:

"The grim outlook for pump prices comes even as weakening U.S. fuel consumption and robust domestic production boosts gasoline inventories to their highest levels since 1994, when a gallon went for less than a dollar."

moeloubani 02-29-2008 08:50 PM

Yeah but why wouldn't they? Americans love to fall into the little traps like this, your government tells you one thing but on the inside is so corrupt and full of greed that the people are nothing more than peons rather than the people who run it.

When you look at a system like democracy it only works if the people actually get what they want, things like free health care is just silly not to have, it's mind boggling for me to think that in the US if I got sick I'd have think of the cost of it, that just isn't right, and its crazy how the government has sold the idea that it can't afford to pay for the health care of the people when they're spending so much on a war so that companies that people at the top of the government are known to profit from can just reap the benefits while everyone else gets fucked. Hard!!

Canada has it right though, our taxes are steadily being reduced, you might have to wait when you come into the emergency room with a cold but you shouldn't be there with a cold anyways, our budgets are awesome, and the people are great! :D

If any goverment cared it would help pay something towards hybrid cars etc the fact is they love you to use oil as they will make big bucks off it :( no matter what the price.

JasonSmokes 02-29-2008 09:38 PM

Canadians do get a tax rebate for purchasing hybrid cars.

Nope, they're not lying.

We pay a lot more tax than you do in the US (except on lottery winnings) and we even pay a tax on a tax when we buy gas.

And yes we do have to wait months to see certain specialists or to get certain diagnostic tests.

Christina Muller 03-01-2008 12:55 AM

JasonSmokes- Canadian consumers will pay about $8,000 more for a hybrid vehicle even with the rebate taken into account.

Im gonna rush and buy one tommorow :)

The fact is goverments make money from fuel and they dont give fuck about saving the planet or any other bullshit :thumbsup

How much more do you pay in taxes? I know in the US, if you're making big money, you're going to pay a ton. You'll pay 30-35% if your'e making big money just to the Federal government. This doesn't include an additional 12.4% on the first $100k for social security and 2.9% on everything for Medicare. Each state has their own tax rates too and you can get stuck in a state like California that can charge up to 10% of your income. Add in the fact we pay a state sales tax, taxes on gas, cigs, alcohol, etc. There is also property tax that can be pretty expensive depending where you live.

All in all, if you're making some big money and living in a state like California, you're forking over well over half your income to the government. I can't see how much higher taxes would be in Canada.

Its the publics own freeking fault !!!
Ive seen them at Costco fighting to park as near as possible to the entrance or waiting for 15 minutes while some smuck loads his truck just so they can take his place, all the time with the engine running ?

I see people sitting in their trucks with the air conditioning going full blast for hours waiting for their wives to come back from shopping.

They drive to the local stores which are sometimes within a mile or two of their homes instead of walking. In a nation full of fat fucks it would reduce the demand on gas plus make people a little healthier by leaving their cars at home and walking a couple of times a day

No one can stop using gas yet but with a little though they can at least reduce their need and when demand drops perhaps, just perhaps the gas companyies will reduce priced to stimulate sales ???:2 cents:

the usa is is a republic not a democracy. Majority rule never works. That is why such things as mandating health insurance is unconstitutional. It takes away the right of the individual

Given those numbers.. They're not... I'd have to check but I don't think I've ever paid out more than maybe 40% total..
