Anyone buying into *.US.COM?
 

Any money in these? I'm paying 30 dollars a year for one of mine that I think might be worth something. Any others out there?

You think surfers like to type in .us.com it's retarded. I'd go with a normal .us before I'd go with any of the double extensions.

All the extentions are just ways to milk money out of people..

It could be going up, check into the history of .us sales ..

from what i've seen the .us bombed people are just used to associating .com with something so i think they are more apt to remember something.us DOT COM like they've been programmed

Lets see...I tried to buy a specific .us domain the other day and i got a friendly little message stating:

last time i checked there were still a bunch of random .us.com available like tgp.us.com mgp.us.com finger.us.com lick.us.com etc

I don't think it's even a legitimate ICANN thing, it's just a company that happens to own the domain name us.com that is selling off subdomains.

Apart from the fact that they're ripping people off there is also the risk of losing your traffic because it's a third party company. If they go bust then there's probably no way you can recover your us.com 'domain' since the parent domain us.com would be snapped up by a domain speculator.

Prices page says 32.50 pounds per year, which is currently about $USD64 (minimum USD128 for 2 years)

Exactly, looks like someone with a decent two letter domain is cashing in big time and fooling users into believing it's something official like co.uk
