It's teeth pulling time!

I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. All four, but two are pretty badly impacted. Ugh. So if I'm not on icq til halfway through Saturday, you can be confident I'm curled up on the couch sucking on a milkshake.

I think the anticipation is worse than the actual procedure. Ugh.

Fap 02-28-2008 11:28 PM

Oh man, that's awful! Stock up on those T3's!

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 02-28-2008 11:45 PM

i had two surgical extractions last month, i never took painkillers for either of them. people blow getting a tooth pulled way out of proportions. just make sure you don't eat anything that'll get stuck in the crater and fuck up the blood clot. i had a buddy who went like a retard and ate doritos right after getting his wisdom teeth out, and wound up getting little sharp cumbs of dorito stuck down in the clot and it fucked things up for him.

tical 02-28-2008 11:47 PM

prepare for the worst breath of your life for about 3-4 weeks :)

Elli 02-28-2008 11:50 PM

Thanks for the advice and well wishes, everyone! I'm off to bed now with some tea to prepare for a busy morning!

pussyluver 02-29-2008 12:07 AM

poor-baby!!

Had two done one at a time, then two at once. There was one really bad one. My first experiences led me to the demand that I be put under for the last two - THANK GAWD!!!!! They really had to cut the top of my mouth up to get the sucker out.

Hope your's go better than that last one for me. Other than that, it is no biggie. Just depends on how bad they are in there.

If 2 are currently "badly impated," that's probably not the case. :2 cents:

Good luck, Elli... I'm sure it'll be fine provided you're not planning on doing _anything_ this weekend... be sure your dentist gives you one of those water-syringe thingies after your first couple weeks... you're gonna need it to rinse out your "holes" for the next month or three... and sometimes they forget to give 'em.

Don't worry so much..at our age they should be fairly erupted, so it's a simple thing to pull them out, even impacted ones don't hurt terribly unless there's infection involved.

Mine I finally got out in January and there was some bad infection. They usually don't pull them in that state but mine defiantly had to come out. :(

FreeHugeMovies 02-29-2008 12:36 AM

Why would you wait so long? Crazy

2012 02-29-2008 12:47 AM

4 at the same time? ... you're a trooper

gandalfuy 02-29-2008 01:25 AM

Best way to do it, I think.

Go in, and get it over with in one shot.

DutchTeenCash 02-29-2008 04:50 AM

damn

well good luck make sure youre drunk before they start pulling :)

Zorgman 02-29-2008 05:05 AM

Best part about getting you teath pulled is the drugs they give you.

I had my wisdom done years ago. Was such a releaf as they were going to fuck all my other teath if they came up.

VeriSexy 02-29-2008 05:48 AM

Ouch... all the best

Evil E 02-29-2008 06:21 AM

Had 4 done last year. You will get injected with a Huge syringue about 6 times, then you wait a little bit for the product to take effect, then he starts to work, you can hear/feel the scalpel going through and some crunches when he breaks tooth that he isn't to get out normally, see blood everywhere... but it only lasts about 10 minutes.

Close your eyes, relax. Follow they instructions they give you to rest and everything should be back to normal about 2-3 weeks after the operation.

NinjaSteve 02-29-2008 07:37 AM

Mine were impacted and they had to use a chisel to get them out. That was crazy, a guy hammering into my mouth.

That's some Darwinism right there.

Thanks Fluid! There's no infection at all, so I'm all clear on that front.

I waited so long because my dentist is a goof and I asked when I was 17, 18, 19, etc etc he said not to bother yet because they aren't a problem. Then at 27 he said "You better get these out before you turn 30! Why did you wait so long?"

carol.prime 02-29-2008 09:50 AM

Good luck Elli. well, it's better to pull them out than to sacrifice for all the pains when its aching.

halfpint 02-29-2008 10:44 AM

It will be over before you know it...had one of mine pulled out a couple of years ago and it wasent as bad as what I thought it would be.

All the best

Sosa 02-29-2008 10:47 AM

it wasn't too bad when I had all 4 of mine done. Knocked me out and gave me some pain killers.

Paco, of Large Cash. 02-29-2008 11:03 AM

tell the bastard not to waste your time with bunky T3 ""painkillers"" and to give you a prescription for a truckload of morphine!

umph oomph narf
(best of luck)

Elli 02-29-2008 03:24 PM

Alright, they're out. It took two hours and he pulled out all his tools like the drill and chisel and extractor and elevator and oh so much fun stuff. Now I'm sitting with ice on my face to keep the swelling down and I'm due for another T3. THanks for the positive thoughts, people!

... and be damn sure to take any medication they perscribe and avoid the foods they specify. Dry socket and infection suck.

Have them put you to sleep. You wake up, and its all over.

GrouchyAdmin 02-29-2008 03:42 PM

It's going to suck like hell.

Mine were so impacted, the dentist ended up trying to drill, then wrench back and forth to make them come out. About an hour later, he got one out, and we collectively decided "fuck it" for the rest. Never did become a problem, though.

Yeah that's what almost happened to mine. It took 90 minutes to get the bottom two out, between the drill and wiggling and whatnot. The top two took about 2 minutes each.

pussyluver 03-01-2008 02:54 PM

WHAT??? You allowed them to do that while you were awake???? I would-a passed out anyway :1orglaugh

I had one that was surgically removed, so noway would I be up for that. Was really way up in there.

Sure hope you don't have to suffer to much with the recovery. Those pain pills make me feel sick. Scotch = much better answer.

Bojangles 03-01-2008 03:51 PM

Don't suck on a milkshake. Don't drink anything through a straw. You'll pull the clots out and get dry root. You don't want that. Hope you're healing nicely.

No, no straws here. I've been warned about that one by several people already! I'm just sipping lukewarm herbal tea and eating applesauce for the most part. :)

So far healing is going well! I just happen to look like a chipmunk with my face all swelled up!

Iron Fist 03-01-2008 05:43 PM

I had all 4 and an eye tooth removed in one sitting... grab your T3's and relax :)

cybermike 03-01-2008 07:05 PM

been procastinating for years.. kind of afraid more now.. ugh

mattz 03-01-2008 08:07 PM

oh man, getting my four teeth pulled while I was awake was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. Just the memory of that fuck with his knee on my chest and the sound of my teeth breaking. The guy should have gotten sued.

Get better.

siccmade 03-01-2008 08:14 PM

I have had a lot of dental work done lately. I will tell you one thing.. you won't be sucking down any milkshakes. No smoking and no straws! If you give yourself a dry socket you'll be in awful pain for about a month and they won't be able to do a whole lot for you.

Just do what they tell you to do after it's all done and you'll be fine. Soreness will go away after 2-3 days and it won't be bad.

Busting the teeth out of your mouth kind of sucks but if they've got you numbed up real good you'll just feel the pressure.

That sounds horrifying! The dentist I went to was extremely gentle. He froze everything first, gave me Atavan, then started in. If I winced or jumped, he gave me two more shots of freezing. I lost count, but he must have given me at least 16 freezing shots by the end of it. I was numb up to my ears!

Elli 03-03-2008 11:31 AM

omg so much pain in one socket...:(

tranza 03-03-2008 11:53 AM

I remember when I pulled all my wisdom teeth out too, I feel your pain.

Hope you get better soon.

:(

Brother Bilo 03-03-2008 11:57 AM

Mine were relatively painless. I had 4 taken out at once and only had problems with one socket, and even that wasn't so bad that the pain pills couldn't cover it.

Although, they screwed up my prescription and didn't add the refill on it, so I went a couple days without them, and that was pretty rough.

Get well dude, you're in the home stretch.

tehHinjew 03-03-2008 12:09 PM

all 4?
your a champ...

i did that too, big mistake

a chunk of my wisdom tooth is still in my mouth lol

Yeah I think I had a total of 16 too, but the doctor was just a dick, yelling at me for moving and stuff like that.
