Watching The Running Man on TV
 

This movie is a fucking classic. They don't good science fiction/cyber punk movies like this anymore.


Anybody ever read the original story by Steven King? It's in a book he wrote under an alia, with 4 short stories that are some of the best he ever wrote.

Better than Shawshank? or Green Mile? ok.

The movie may bot be, but the book is about 1000's times better.

The book includes 4 stories: The Running Man, Rage, Roadwork and the Long Walk.

Some of the best stuff he has ever written.

Arnie rules.

It's ironic how this movie tells the story of a reality TV show before reality TV shows even existed.

I finished watching this movie a few hours ago... it did not age well lol

i watched it on the movie channel about a month ago, i love that stupid fuck movie...

i personally thought the written story sucked. it took 80's cheese to make that one a winner.

I like the short story better than the movie but the movie was fun.

yeh the books is so much better then the movie, and only has slight resemblances really. Weird thing was I finished reading that book on 9/11, so when I read the end I was so freaked out.

I dont think it was in this case. The original story was dark and grutty, and the good guy dies at the end. This movie was filled with arnie one liners and a very poor plot.

Did you read the other short stories in that 4 story book by King: Rage, Roadwork and The Long Walk? Wow, those really freaked me out, especially the latter. Those are some of the darkest stories I've ever read.

I must have watched Running Man about a million times as a kid. I reckon its Arnie's best movie
