YOGA...Anybody here take it...I'm back from my first class!

I joined a health club recently because my fat has gotten WAY out of control. So besides step aerobics, spin, and bodyworks, I took my first Yoga class today...

To a young person or a person in good shape, Yoga looks like a pussified stretching exercise...But to me, I was sweating in the beginning of the session...But then we did the leg stretching and cooldown and at the end of it, I felt GREAT!...

It might have been easier had I not lifted weights for 45 minutes before the class, but either way, my muscles are stretched out and I know that if I continue, I'll be looking decent by the summer...

Plus it's all women in there...I'm the only man...So if you haven't taken Yoga, try it..

Some guys like to go to sweaty, loud, overpriced nightclubs with skanky girls on drugs who put their noses up at you.

I prefer to go to Yoga class where the girls are 10 times hotter, in amazing shape, and can bend into a pretzel.

I thought you were male?!?

I signed up for a class thinking that it would help with my stress levels.

But I am bad at losing track of time, and freaking out over running late to class was stressing me out worse, so I said fuck it, and bought yoga dvd's.

Go to Bikram Yoga - its 105 degrees, the girls are damn near naked and super slick with sweat from head to toe, bending over inches from your face for 90 minutes.

Plus the workout kicks your ass every single time because of the heat.

K... that settles it... I'm getting back into yoga. :winkwink:

My professor way back in College used to teach us Yoga but wasn't able to practice it. Going to Yoga class cost higher than going to the gym. So will try to find a cheaper Yoga center and will try it too. heh :winkwink:

yoga is great, i should really get back into it...

i was into Yoga/Pilates a while back...

when you can palm your hands flat behind your back, get back to me...

I do regular yoga but I've always wanted to do Bikram. I've heard its an awesome workout. I've never been able to find a class in my area though.

If I want to work out with the men, I'll just go out in the weight room like I did for 45 minutes before my Yoga class......Watching in shape women stretch and step and ride the stationary bikes and when they stand up to "crank", all you see is tight asses....I LOVE IT.

I'm looking at the club guide and it looks like we have Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga in addition to the regular yoga I was taking...I'm gonna stick with the regular for awhile.

Jimmy Rock 02-28-2008 01:48 PM

Try Yoga in LA, even better, I took a few classes, and yes all women, and in Hollywood, got to stretch alongside Nicole Kidman ;) Bikrahm Yoga, hot ass swetty stuff!

HammerALL 02-28-2008 01:52 PM

I haven't been to a class - but used a DVD my buddy gave me - I can honestly say it kicked my ass. I was sweating and pretty spent after it was done.

VikingMan 02-28-2008 03:05 PM

Check out some of the places in Santa Monica. Get a great workout and have those perfectly shaped asses so close you can in fact smell them. After class everyone is feeling euphoric and this is when you make your move on one of the hotties by starting a conversation about eating "organic veggies" or "saving animals". :thumbsup

Vinyasa Flow is supposed to be the best of both worlds: its hot, but not TOO hot (85 degrees I think) and they do some pretty cool postures. I've never done it though. Someone I know was REALLY into Bikram for a few years and now has switched completely to hot Vinyasa.

Thanks for that list. This is one of those times I wish I still lived on South Beach. I live in the bum-fuck part of Central Florida now, so unfortunately not near any of those. I've heard there's a good Bikram studio in Gainesville (Big Ron's Yoga), but I'm not driving 45 minutes for a yoga class.

I Googled it and my town doesn't have an official Bikram place, but they do have one place in town that does a "Hot Yoga" class. I might have to check it out.

I took a yoga class in college. I kept falling asleep, but the instructor didn't seem to mind. On a side note, the instructor was a member of the US Olympic Shooting Team - apparently the breathing control he acquired from yoga gave him a very steady hand for pistol shooting. :)

One of my models teaches yoga...

Now it's the evening and I still feel fucking great!! The feeling I get is equivalent to getting high except this shit is more mellow and lasts longer...

xenigo 02-28-2008 06:12 PM

I just went to my first yoga class last night actually. First AND last! LOL

I'll stay near the machines at the gym from now on. Agonizingly heavy weights never looked so appealing.
