People think that because we are in 2008 that somehow we are evolved compared to people 100,000 years ago. In fact we have much of the same hard wiring as we did then.

I have noticed anytime I have had to get up an make a speech I have often had muliple girls interested in me when the event is over.

One of the best things any guy can do is go to every wedding you are invited to and insist on making a speech. Make it a little bit sappy, a little funny, and get whip the girls up into an emotional frenzy. (just find a book on wedding toats).

When I'm in clubs with my camera (a digital SLR, but with the flashgun, high apperture lens and battery grip, it looks quite big & pro to most people) it's not uncommon to have random chicks or groups of chicks I never seen before line up to have their pics taken and start sweet talking me... "Am I a pro-photographer? Will the pics be published? Am I looking for models? Do you have a business card?" etc...
(If only I knew about that before getting maried :-) ).
Of course when I don't have my camera, I become again the random guy that no chicks seem to notice until I go talk to them or do something else to grab attention.

I did a few years as bartender when i was 20 and Djd for 10 years separately.

As a bartender it was like shooting fish in a barrel, drunk chicks at the end of the night are sadly easy. DJ worked best if you had a late set and they are getting clubbed out (not literally) even the easiest chick rarely leaves a club floor at 10.00pm to get screwed - 4.00am though and youre golden.

Why, because young women are dumbasses and most of the guys hitting onto them are jibbering idiots with no game. Either position also puts you at the best focus point for women.

Put yourself in the girls shoes that goes to a club. She meets some random guy has no idea who he is what he does what his real name is etc. She goes to this club every week because it is the popular hang out. Now she sees the same bartender there every week. Guess what there is a sense of false security that this guy is ok because if something happens she knows where to find him.
Same thing goes for the DJ. But if it is a big name DJ then she is in with a celebrity and he can get her in to all the cool clubs etc (false beliefs again)

If she gets in with the security the dj or the bartender she can go into the "Happening" club for free and get free drinks.

When I owned bars it was like beyond easy to pick up girls.

My staff would laugh at me because of my routine. I would walk behind the bar, play with bottles, then go to the dj booth and talk to him, then hug the the door guys, I was like a dog pissing on every tree.

Of course I was just doing this so there was no doubt to the young girls that were drinking that this was my domain.

For my experience the owner get first choice, then the promoters, next the dj, only if he is a good dj, then the bartenders and door staff. After that you have the bar backs, kitchen staff, and friends of the owner fighting for the scraps.

I hate when they call DJ's "artists." Being an artist requires a very good combination of creative genius, inspiration and hard work. DJ'ing is a skill. Yes, some creativity is required but it's a freaking skill that can be taught to anyone who can tap his foot.

This hits the core of it.

Women tend to go for alpha males. Men are identified by others as alpha males by the attention they get. DJs, bartenders, etc. get loads of attention in clubs because of their central positions. That creates the illusion of popularity, which in turn creates genuine popularity.

It's fairly easy to fake it even if you aren't a DJ or bartender, though. Just make sure to stick to a single club as often as possible when you go out, so you get to know the bouncers, bartenders, DJs and regulars. That'll create plenty of social interaction when you go to that club, which makes it seem as if you're an alpha male. And, again, merely creating that illusion is enough to create the reality.

wrong. i've tried. djing is "live remixing" you cannot teach just anyone. that is false. i have been around the world as a club dj, been the opening dj for many of the worlds biggest djs. djing is just as musically challenging as any instrument. in fact you are playing three instruments at one time, 4 if you are counting the sound system, as it is a major factor and something that a lot of hack job djs fuck up.

i've been a musician since age six. not everyone can be an artist. its just not that way.

any idiot can get up there and mix two beats together, but to get up there, do it right, and NOT clear the dancefloor, is a major challenge and takes creativity, soul and skill
