How fast would Slice get fucked up by a real MMA fighter?

Kimbo has fought three people. One being, Ray Mercer which wasn't even an MMA bout, but rather an exhibition, and a rather shitty one at that. The second fight being Bo Cantrell which was a "legit" mma fight, but seeing how Bo is 10-11 in his whole career, and leading up to the Kimbo fight he was on a 4 loss streak, I wouldn't exactly call Bo "Redrum" Cantrell top competition, if you know what I mean. Lastly he fought Tank Abott who at this point in his career is 9-14, and seeing how in his last 9 fights, he's only been able to obtain 1 win, I wouldn't say Kimbo has fought the best competition around.


Not bashing Kevin ( Kimbo ) in any sort of the way, but if you put him in there with a guy like Frank Mir, or Tim Sylivia for that matter he would get schooled. That's why I don't understand why people are saying he's the best fighter in the world, because he's not. I'm sure Kimbo himself would even tell you that.


All of luck to Kimbo and his future in mma, it sure looks bright, if he keeps his training up, and doesn't get "champions" disease.

To answer your question if Kimbo fought some legit competition, he'd lose in the first round.

He's a good fighter though nonetheless, make it to the top? I honestly doubt it, see what happens when he fights guys the real guys, he'll go out all day any day on leg/knee/feet submissions, if not get kicked so hard and so many times towards a TKO,

K1 he'd stand a way better chance but he doesnt have the endurance yet to fight multiple fights in one night on K1 level,

That's a pretty one sided affair considering they are in different weight classes.

My opinion is that at the moment he is way too green to do much damage to a top ranked MMA fighter. He needs to get some more ring experience before he will be a legit challenger in the HW division. That said he is training under Bas and is said to be learning fast so who knows. Personally I'd like to see him fight someone like Aleksander Emelianenko to see how good his standup really is.

Do not fucking underestimate the power of Kimbo Slice.

I think thats the best example of what would happen to Kimbo if he fought a guy with a great game like Thiago silva. Kimbo is Green yes, but you can't feed him tamato cans for his whole carrer, and yes I understand you have to build a fighter up before you throw him to the sharks, but how long are we going to see kimbo fight 3rd tier compeition? Yes, training under Bas is a big help for anyone looking to progress there future in MMA ( Mixed Martial Arts ), but there is only so much a trainer can do for you, the rest is up to the fighter, and his natural potential. Personally I think if he fought a guy like Aleksander, he'd get welcomed to the reality he isn't unbeatable, and can be ko'd.

Ya, I'm pretty sure that Aleks would KO him quick. But I think it would be a good fight and a good test for Kimbo since pretty much anyone would bet Aleks in that fight. But Kimbo is always going to have a punchers chance no matter who he is in there with.

If Kimbo lands a few head shots its lights out, even for top level MMA pros.

Look at Brock Lesnar, he fought Frank Mir on his second professional MMA fight, EVER! And if you didn't know Frank is a former UFC HW champion, most known for snapping Tim Sylvias arm, and also submitting your boy Tank Abott. So how long is Kimbo going to keep fighting these 3rd and 4th tier fighters who are on there way out of MMA, and are looking for a quick buck? I understand that you have to build a fighter up, but how many fights does it take to "build a record in the game"? You tell me, because right now Paul Bunetello has called Kimbo out, and is looking to put himself back on the map, but will Kimbo take it? Probably not, because there is a good chance he might lose. So from a marketing staind point, I guess your point is vaild, but in the end it will only hurt Kimbos legacy if he keeps fighting these tomato cans. And isn't a fighters legacy the most important thing, when a fighter isn't just about money, fame, and sponsors? But rather more keen on keeping his legacy alive?:2 cents:

Keeping one's legacy alive meant much more when all you needed was a legacy to pay rent. These days you better get paid or wind up in a homeless
shelter with your legacy which will forever be altered as one of failure.

Kimbo is the "draw". He brings in the numbers no matter who he fights so there is no need whatsoever for him to chose a specific fighter to bring
in the numbers.

This scenario would logically be milked until Kimbo needed a specific fighter
to draw the numbers again.

This is a matter of "You versus They" :

You want to see fights and They want to make money so You don't matter.

That's the fight I wanted to see. I think Beuntello would destroy him, but it would be a great test, and if Kimbo did pull off a win it would give him some much-needed credibility.
