When I was 16 email lists was how I got into the world of ecommerce.
I was browsing eBay and I found an ad for an online ready to go business, so I bid for it and I was telling all my buddies shit like man I'm gonna get you guys to run a business for me and we're gonna make cash and all this BS
the business was one that sold email lists, it was something like emailslist.com so the domain was pretty cool, and I bid on it then I fucking lost cuz I bid $75 and it went all the way to $300
so I was pretty pissed but my money making be your own boss dude was pumped that I'd been so close to something like that, so I kept looking on eBay and like 2 days later I found the exact same ad for a totally different site (can't remember what the domain name was) anyways I bid $1 and won but then the fucker showed me that he had $39 shipping so I ended up paying $40 for it.
Just for lols I put it back up, and I put it at $499.99, and no questions about it or anything till like 3 hours before it ends some dude named JC (just his initials) emails me and says something like 'hey if that doesn't sell would you be willing to let it go for a little less' and i said sure, not a problem, the whole time in my head im thinking woot i knew exactly what to do, since i was young and had no clue about ebay not letting you have multiple accounts and proxy bidding and all that fun stuff, i made a new account, placed a bid and sure enough buddy comes in at the last minute with a bid just over mine at $525.
and that gain of $485 was to me at the time like a months part time work all in a couple of days and i was sold, and then i just sold that exact same site a couple of more times, learned how to make shitty websites and sold the same website no lie at least 10 times at $300 a pop and the rest is history
