TGPs losing traffic...maybe it's not the tube sites
 

Just a thought.

It went like this:

Yahoo was king then they started charging to get listed in their directory.
Their directory became useless, google kicked their asses and now
microsoft is trying for "ownage".

Did TGPs make the yahoo mistake with partner accounts?

You got to figure that some really good submitters probably had to narrow
down their submissions. A lot less submissions came in to TGPS.
And last but not least...very few new submitters comming on board to
replace those that no longer do submissions.

I'm not claiming that it's the case but it kind of makes sense.
TGPs cut out sources of content, that may have effected how much surfers
liked their sites.

ITs the tube sites.

Until sponsors give us TGP owners some better galleries or promo tools to promote with tgps will continue to lose traffic to tube sites.

As a result we can either sit around and cry about it, or start making tube sites.

I have no problem stealing from the hand that pays me.

Better galleries... thats one of the top reasons that we are where are today is because the sponsrs gave away there whole members area to keep the aff's "tgpers" happy :disgust

I from here on out am downloading every piece if content I can find and placing it on the web for free. He's right! Grab all affiliate content and dump it onto rapidshare or megaupload.com and link it from your Geocities page. 3 or 4 AdultFriendFinder banners and you are in bank!

I see the distribution of blame as follows:

34% Lack of ability to adapt (still using text links with no previews, no search, no tags)
33% Rapidshare, megarotic, forums
33% Tube sites

For the TGPs tube sites are just a third of the problem.

Almost 10 years ago everbody cried about TGPs being the problem.
Some people quit crying and built their own TGP.

Crying about content theft is for real.
But when people cry about new types of sites competing for traffic then that
is more a failure to adapt.

Yes I messed up. I didn't mean tube sites in general, but pirate tube sites.

If a TGP is all text links, of course the surfers are going to jump ship this being 2008 not 1998. :2 cents:

OK, but why do sponsors need to provide galleries when you used to have
1000's of submission a day. That is what this thread is really about.

I'm saying, by making webmaster pay to submit you are cutting down on your
selection of galleries. You can't blame the sponsor for that.

(NOTE: That was hypothectical in your case since I don't know if you use partner accounts)

Oh, and I wasn't saying that you were "crying". You gave an analysis of the
